Storing guns at a different address

My mate has been with his Mrs for 3 years and just put in for his renewal, turns out his girlfriends son is a bit of a scroat with a record. The police are now telling him that he has to keep his guns at a different address as the fear the son is could break into the house and disc cut the cabinet of the wall🙄 he had been a FAC and SGC holder for 30 years with no problems. Has anyone else heard of this condition trying to forced on someone?
Cheers

He will (in my understanding) have to keep them at an RFD, as guns have to be stored at your primary residence.

Yes, I have heard of just this sort of thing. Can't recall where he ended up keeping them. In his case, the problem was his married son, who had recently moved into the same building complex (a converted farm steading) and was "known to the police."

Time for new Mrs.

Many years ago I had an H&H double rifle stored in my high street bank until my FAC came up for renewal and they (the police) told me it was not a good idea. True story. Lol

Back in the day, there was no such thing as an FEO just the local bobby

I was asked a while ago, if I could store a rifle for a firend whilst some building work was done at their place.
Rather than going through the whole variation process, I offered a spare safe, and that they would hold the keys so I would not have access.
The FLD was happy with that and just asked to be notified on my address so they could put a note on their records.

No issues store elsewhere and no condition at this stage, however this could change depending on the time and the association. This is normally a joint decision between the cert holder and the licensing department. I suspect that if the cert holder had disagreed the licensing department would have grounds to remove you cant have an inappropriate association.

I'm surprised that he has waited for the police to raise this issue with him TBH. This doesn't sound like a fight worth fighting to me? He needs to comply before they simply revoke his FAC which they're more than happy to do in the current climate.
