I should know about this but I have forgotten. Do we need a Temporary export licence for travel to Namibia. I know that you do for South Africa.

As far as I have found out we do not need a temporary export licence to take sporting firearms to Namibia. If any knows different please feel free to comment.

My local FEO told me I didn't need a licence to export; I have a copy of the form that the Namibian Police require you to complete; PM me if you need a copy.

You can now complete an online firearms import licence form for Namibia for ease of process on arrival ....

I am here in Namibia at the moment. Despite having sent the temporary import permit ahead it was samo samo. The policeman apologised that his computer wasn’t working. Still it only took ten minutes.

UKBF has confirmed to me that a Temporary Letter of Export is not currently required for Namibia. You will still need to complete the form issued by the Namibian Police.

Currently in Namibia. You still don't need an export permit like you do in RSA. Even if flying via Jo'burg like we did.

I was amazed how little interest was paid by the Namibian police in Windhoek. I emailed the form as required, but they appeared to have no access to it or any kind of computer system. The police officer asked me to open my rifle case, read off the serial number (Without inspecting the weapon at all) and filled in a form. They didn't even want to see my FAC, just my letter of invitation and form I'd completed and took with me.

Loads easier than South Africa for sure.
