the best night vision scope?

I'v eused the archer and the NVM14, I much prefer the NVM14, it was just easier to set up and switch between rifles, I would say a better picture(but that may be because I got ****ed off with the archer not focussing easily) They are much the same thing but the NVM14 is slightly easier to use. Its a direct copy of an expensive add on sight £3300(I forget the name) same thing just casing isn't as plush.

Check out www.nightvisiongear.co.uk they have dedicated sights and front and rear add ons. The service is the best I have received(Joint with swillington SS). I was looking for other products etc and he said after the sight I bought I would be dissappointed with what I was looking at and therefore steered me away rather than taking my money, always great to know. One day they will have what I want and I'll buy it.

I really like the fact I can wind the scope up to 18x its worth thinking about as you can't with a dedicated unit

Get the pulsar and spend the rest on a new rifle and some boar shooting in Easter Europe. There just isn't enough difference to warrant the extra money.

I have the cheapest archer and the pricey one gen3 with top grade tube its pretty good on the
right scope i can see mice taking wheat at my feeder from 100m ,if you set it up properly on
a suitable scope its all you would need
I can give you a demo if you pop down one night

hi to all iv been shooting for 40.y.s. i live in the north east i all so have nv starlight archer gen 3 i shoot fox and rabbits with it

you got one hope and NO hope on that one with the U S A, TRIED IT and went every route possible, if you want top notch N V gear have a chat with Mr Ewen campbell SRS dealer, and make sure you have got 10 K plus.If you buy cheap you get cheap, starlight and longbow and the rest of the N V gear they go on about here NOT EVEN IN THE SAME LEAUGE .
Persoanlly if possible and legal, I would source from Gen 3 or better from the states - something like the D-760

d760 or d480 pvs 14 ad on archer uses eev tubes from second world war a gen 3 eev tube is like acrap ruskey tube get usa stuff mx10160 tubes aqnd a pair of pvs7 gogles to spot with gen 3 pvs7 gogles from norway /ebay 1500 archers cum up there to 800 to 1200 pounds with lazer iluminator d760 2000 on ebay i have purchased lots of night vision gear from there have a look on ebay there are some units that will do what you want and give you money back in your pocket and for the record im ex soviet bazare night vision companey employe so i do know n/v

I can never understand why people knock archers. I use them and think they are great. 9 out of 10 cat owners who fed their cats archers said their cats preferred them. I have looked through many nv units. I'M NOT IN THE TRade. But most people who use them are very happy, I spent hours online looking for complaints and the only people who bitched about them were people selling illegal envis units. 1 bloke was selling one for £3000. Try getting that fixed after it goes bang because if couldn't handle the recoil. The others who bitched were others who promoted their own unit.
They are not as pretty as some units, they are heavy and you do need time to set them up right. For the money a grade D with the correct scope will shoot a lot farther than I would want to.
For the money, less than £1700 I am unaware of anything (legal) to touch it.
as you can tell I am a fan.
Like anything you pays your money and pays your choice. I did, I bought a second to go with the first, then so did my mate, then his mate.

Get yourself a D760 and you wont go wrong, as long as you want dedicated! They are available over here, and as wraith mentions, gen3 mx10160 tube is the one to have! Forget the I.R. Laser tho, If you want extra I.R. go with the new night master 800-I.R. L.E.D. Torch, Iv just purchased one and its the cleanest beam iv seen yet!

Be careful of thinking that Gen 3 must be better than Gen 2+? It depends on the manufacturer, because in some cases Gen 2+ has a better FOM (Figure of Merit) than Gen 3 modes.

Forget the NM800 ir torch if you buy a good gen3 dedicated, way too much ir for what you will need, a pulsar L808 turned down to lowest setting will be fine. If you want a com scope then yes a D760 with MX10160 tube if you want mil-spec then Raptor all the way, 6x is big and heavy but will see for miles i use a 4x now and still plenty.:-D

I use a starlight archer its as good as any i have seen .think the gen 3 one i have is around
£2,500 my mate is after a new model they have ,he says its great
,worth giving Julian a call to ask

if there's are archer going spare let me know, been after one for a while but everytime I have the money there's not one about!
