The Covid Blues

I'm currently stuck at home waiting for the results on my Covid 19 test , my second in two months , first one negative . I was sick over the weekend and decided to stay home and get tested . I obviously can't go anywhere until I get the results back , so I informed my employer of my situation . We get paid to stay home here under the circumstances , so no worries on that front . What did p**s me off , was the fact that , apparently , a number of people that work in the same facility as me are already under quarantine after testing positive over two weeks ago , not impressed . I already feel fine , to be honest , I think it's probably just a cold virus , but I'll go out of my way to make sure I don't infect others , apparently , I take the situation more seriously than some do . According to the HR department , there was a memo sent out , but since we work some very strange shifts , it didn't make it to us . No real point to this , other than to vent . Thanks for listening and return to your regular channel .

Pfuut, ive been isolating for months, just because of where I live, had to make a dash overseas to look after parents just before lockdown, took the bike to keep away from people, avoid planes, apparently it is rude to come home infect, then kill your parents with COVID.
I could go on, I’m getting withdrawal symptoms for everything. If me mothers say, ah, soon be gone, one more time.........

but there are so many who are so much worse off than us. They are the ones I feel sorry for. And maybe just a little bit for myself.... but there is 8 cans of cider in the fridge. For how much longer.

It's not the isolating that bothers me . My wife has health issues and is in the vulnerable part of the population . What bothered me was the fact that we were exposed and not informed . You're right though , many are far worse off .

Hope you don’t have it. I got it in the first wave. Had worse colds, but over the summer never really felt at full bounce. Over the last couple of months have gone downhill - they reckon I have long Covid post viral fatigue. Been told to rest up and take it easy. Finally pulled stumps last week - self employed - and handed all my clients to colleagues.

And now suffering a diet of Professionals on Amazon, Meateater, Randy Newberg, Forgotten Weapons on YouTube and talking bollocks on Stalking Directory.

and we are in semi lockdown and bored to tears already.

It affects us all, probably except for those that are young and irresponsible and go to illegal parties/raves. I've had my shooting stopped in it's tracks. My wife, who in the first wave worked like a trooper as a nurse on an intensive care unit this time is having to isolate. One grandson lives with us with his father which keeps us nearly sane but I desperately miss five other grandchildren and their parents. Forays out of the house are pretty much restricted to shopping and the chemist, except for the odd deputising on the school run which I eagerly look forward to. Popping to see old friends, going somewhere for a bite of lunch, or a beer or two with old colleagues is all on hold. But I keep telling myself that the proverbial glass is half full. Which is what we have to do and look forward to that glass once again filling up.

Take heart Hyem SR20 that you are not alone. Certainly in talking bollocks on SD anyway.

Sorry to hear that. If you feel up to it pop out for a gentle walk. Hope you feel better soon, J
