I’ve been shooting the HMR kneeling off a Primos tripod and just before Christmas I bought some of the plastic coated metal canes to make some quads during the break.
I’ve been out 4 times now on the rabbits and I’m converted, no more scrambling around in the mud and rock steady.
They aren’t perfect though, tracking moving quarry isn’t the easiest due to the rifle being locked in the V’s.
I’m toying with making a flat yolk to allow the rifle to pan. Or do I just bite the bullet and buy the Vipers ( the cheaper ones not the £300 jobs)
I’ve made mine with a magnet top and bottom so they lock together and put a makeshift sling on them to carry around, when they are over my shoulder they are silent, no banging or clanging.
If I bought the Vipers I’d be doing the same, are they rattle free and do they lock together, also I’m 6’2” do they have enough adjustment for long un’s like me?
Cheers in advance.
