Which forces are currently doing Variations?

Any idea what the waiting times are like with dyfed powys police on renewals
My FAC ends Feb 2021 so I'm gathering all the paperwork now.Covid has complicated matters in that 2 of my gun clubs are not requiring members to sign in when shooting so there is no record of me using my rifles so where is my good reason for having firearms if I can't prove I'm using them! Fingers crossed!

Take photos of your targets on your phone, proof no problem. The photo will include date and location data. So if they want to see your use it is easily proven.

Have e-mailed the Chief constable and PCC.

'Please can I ask for your assistance in getting the firearms licensing department at Dyfed-Powys Police to resume normal activity and start providing a service to the public. They have twice now just given a bland, non-committal answer and blame the Coronavirus pandemic for their closure. Other forces, as per my emails attached have not used this excuse and continue to serve their communities.

I have three children who have worked through this pandemic in their communities without stopping as a police officer, a nurse and a mental health support worker. So hearing that the licensing department isn't even doing a basic admin task is rather disappointing to say the least.'

I think they now only answer the phone after 2pm but I maybe wrong, its a crying shame as they used to be fantastic
That's what the answer message says, but the reality is they aren't answering the phones, neither HQ or the FEO. And, the online renewal form has increased to 15 pages!!! OK 15 sides, which is 7.5 pages.
And yes, Wiltshire was always a pleasure to deal with. At the moment I'm giving them the 'Corona' benefit but still putting in my renewal 2 months in advance.

Update.
I sent an e-mail yesterday afternoon, stating my queries, and got a helpful reply this morning. So hopefully it'll 'be alright on the night'.

I've had a renewal in with Wilts for 4 months!!! now obviously we've had the whole cv-19 thing going on but they've only concentrating on renewals, they weren't even looking at variations or new issues!!! I hope this isn't a sign of things to come as Wilts were absolutely top notch and often turned things around the same day in some dealings I've had with them!

Update regarding Dyfed-Powys is that I have spoken with a senior member of their department this morning. They have already started to deal with their backlog and FEO's out since last week trying to play catch up and variations will be up and running again soon, once they have caught up.

Wiltshire? I keep getting the answer machine.

yes did he for me last week although I was told they were only doing it for people needing them for their job buyout that was 6 weeks ago. Mine, 1-4-1 plus additional rifle and mod was turned Around in just one a week and not for work.

PS did all contact by email as they are generally working from home

there was a club raided and closed for that last year so be careful!

Which forces are currently doing Variations?

Dyfed-Powys Police are not and are using Coronavirus as the reason.
Mates been waiting a visit for application since January. Could understand at the height of corona only doing variations & one for one. Now we can all mix with social distancing, bacterial wipes & even masks. Just an excuse to hold bsck around here
