Yew tree bullets

In short no. The fastest I know anyone pushing any of the TLR’s is 3,650fps which is the 6mm out of a 6x284. They work fine. The fastest in 6.5 is around 3,250-3,300 (6.5x284 and 6.5 PRC) again they work as designed.
Cheers

coming to the end stages of having a rifle built in 6-284 specifically for the 80.1gr TLR. looking forward to seeing velocities out of a 27” barrel

another happy yewtree customer here. Using them in 308 126.5 gn.
Fallow and roe. Chest neck and head shots all work well. Head shot on a roe today was let’s say devastating.
Below are pictures from a fallow doe on Saturday. Shot at about 70 yards. Single entry wound through the ribs, then you can clearly see where the main part of the bullets has exited and where the petals have spread out. And finally exit from the outside where it has cut the fur so must have been pretty sharp.

I really like positive expansion but I would worry about damage to the rumen with that level of fragment dispersion.

Been using Yewtree 114g TLR in my 6.5x55 for two seasons now and really pleased with it. Lowland and hill.

Homeloaded by @Selous and I took his advice with any round going i.e. 3150fps and brought the shot placement forward to avoid bursting the rumen.

Personally I think pinning through shoulder and/or where it meets the neck is good practice with non lead anyway.

Is the extent of the dispersion any greater than with lead cored bullets (which partially fragment)?

This is a question, not a rebuttal of your concerns.

Another vote for these. 145gn .308 running 44gr N140. Very very good grouping (1/4moa) in my rifle and absolutely knocks everything down. Come out on average at 2768fps from my short barrelled Sauer.
Having run the TLR in my 6.5x55 can vouch they are just as good.
