zeiss customer care

If a Zeiss dealer grey imports a few Conquest 'scopes on the side and Zeiss do not know about it should they be responsible for any problems that occur.

Likewise........ if a British Gas engineer does a "cash job" on the side at a weekend for his mate would British Gas cover any problems with the repair under their warranty - I think not.

Yes,they're still Zeiss are they not or is it just marketing?
Pound to a penny you wouldn't get this from Swarovski or Schmidt and Bender

Yes they should in this instance, but they should also then pursue the dealer for any expenses incured and take them of the dealer program.

Neil. :)

Not strictly relevant i know but i can only verify that 'Mark' and 'Irene' at Zeiss UK have been nothing less than outstanding in after sales, help and advice over the years

It really is time we told the EU where to go................................ damned useless bunch of money wasters.

stone, i would suggestyou have bought a "grey import" as Zeiss have i am sure never marketed conquest riflescopes.
any grey import whatever the product would not be covered by a warranty from the country it was bought in.
that is always the risk when buying these products.
i could be wrong.
if you have the product from new would you mind publishing what you warranty card states please.
or indeed anyone with a conquest please publish the warranty card

Yes you are probably right
It may well be grey import but at the time it came from official channels or so it seemed
I will endeavour to find the box and relevant paper work but after so many years and moving house several times it may take a while
Out of interest can I cross check what I would expect to find with a UK scope
I have just checked my Duralyt and all paper work / booklets just point to Zeiss as being responsible
I wonder what I will find when I eventually track down my conquest booklets and paper work
As I am now intrigued to see what the difference is

I think this is one of the biggest reply to a thread I've had. as I've said im not to bothered the matter is in hand.
Lets just hope now in the future they put a stop to taking some back to send to usa for repair and not others.

I have contacted the u.s branch to see where I stand. But haven't had a reply as of yet. Im just glad I found someone local to sort it. The cost of shipping there and back alone would be twice the price of the service. By the guy in birmingham.

My other conquest has been going strong for years withand out problem. You win some and loose
some. I am pretty shocked how it got out the factory in the usa with specks of dust in it.

You should have bought a couple of Leupolds jamie:cool:

Ian

Hmmm well a buddy of mine who lives in Missouri used to buy Leupold until he had problems with one which he returned for repair. Leupold just shipped it back say nothing wrong with it so he re-mounted it shot some groups. Swopped the scope for a "Good" one shot some more groups and sent the scope with groups back. Leupold then found the problem and fixed the scope which he then sold. He now buys the Zeiss Conquest or Burris scopes although I did notice he had a Swaroski on his new Kimber 84. Oh yes he informed Leupold about their lost customer................................ as I recall they did not reply.
