Thanks to Gary at Zeiss. A quick telephone call Thursday morning to ask if they could replace a battery cap and turret screw I had managed to lose. Arrived home Friday evening to find it delivered FOC . Great service well done !!

Very different to my current experiences of Zeiss UK.
I would no longer recommend them or their products to anyone

Could not agree more. I have been waiting over 8 months for Zeiss UK to finish a repair that Zeiss EU started and never finished…. but for which Zeiss UK happily took payment. Shoddy to say the least.

Swaro know what customer service is. Zeiss appear to be more interested in promoting themselves rather then servicing existing customers.

I only have praise for Zeiss. They are always happy to help and on more than one occasions they have send me stuf FOC when I either lost them or I asked for a reserve.

Sorry to hear this. My apologies if you are not the person, but someone in the similar region was contacted to arrange a meet where our service engineer would travel from Cambridge to the New Forest to sort out the problem. If I understand from my engineer 3 different dates were set, ZEISS had to cancel on one, but no confirmation on the other two.

If i ever had to choose between an optic and it came down to after service it would be Swarovski every time over Zeiss. Had dealings with both in the past and cant speak highly enough of Swarovski. Zeiss, i doubt i'll buy again!

I've certainly had good service from both Swarovski and Zeiss........ way way better than the indifferent and somewhat arrogant and very expensive service from another well-known central European manufacturer with no official UK base. :finger:

So it's a big thumb up from me...... cheers Mark, Gary.

Thank you.

We are not perfect and yes sometimes we could do better. After 17 years in this business, it is fair to say that I know the plusses and negatives of our service and the negatives we have to change, no doubt the same applies with other manufacturers. The competitors who I know well and actually have a good relationship with are also aware of positives and negatives for our service as well as there own. We strive to get things right, however there are also some customers who state "If we do not get what we want then we will post negative comments on forums". I am not saying that all the negative responses to our service on this forum are from the "if you dont brigade", but in some instances there are two sides to a story.

Utter crap. Zeiss cancelled the first meeting then never arranged anything further. Gladly took the payment.

They've failed to meet everyone of their assurances to contact me. I've had to ring them every two weeks to find out what is happening. Given that it would appear to be a zeiss repair that has failed I am less then impressed.
If they had simply kept their word for contacting me I would have been placated. It's not difficult to acknowledge receipt of £2000+ worth of equipment.

I lost the top turret and the screw that holds it on,

supplied from them within 2 days.

sounds good to me.................................even better when you know the scope is not supported by them here in the uk, a zeiss conquest 6.5/20x50

I only wish they sold these in the uk and supporterd them as they are a cracking scope that would sell like hot cakes,

sorry to here that your having problems and know what you mean about keeping contact, but if the work shop2so to speak" is not here then it could be a break in the chain, well lets hope its just a weak link?

as said i was happy with my findings and help from Zeiss UK

bob.

I managed to snap top turret screw on zeiss scope .
I rang zeiss uk new screw arrived in post the next morning I personally aint going to knock that.

so in any case it didn't cross you mind to phone up and rearrange after the cancellation? If it were my optics I'd want them fixed as quickly as possible and after a few days I'd be chasing the company to find out the score especially if I'd already paid. Why try to blame others when actually you just let it slip.

Bit of a pattern emerging here, great at sending out 50p turret caps not so good at repairing several hundred pound binos?

I have also had my share of drama's with Zeiss UK and would not buy again or recommend to others but, to be fair, when Mak (who I believe is the UK boss?) got involved it was soon sorted. Sounds like he is still being let down by others within the business?

i too had a tough time with zeiss uk which i have posted about before , and the quote about posting it on forums about problems people have had is a good one and i would fully recommend anyone else with any problems with high end kit do the same !
quite funny how as soon as i mentioned it on here the problem very quickly got resolved ?
no doubting the quality of zeiss optics but there seems to be more and more doubts about customer service which is a shame
