So what has she said that is factually incorrect, as opposed to just something that you disagree with?

I'm a great fan of Ann Mallalieu, she has been a tireless supporter of hunting and has worked tirelessly for the CA and hunting and is a very plesant person.

However, I regret to say that on this occasion she has made a foolish statement which does hunting no good whatsoever. To come out with such a statement is just plain foolish, unjust and will reflect badly on hunting, those who hunt and the CA.

The worry is that it is a mere few steps from what she said to saying that decoying pigeons causes a high degree of wounding or that driven pheasant shooting does ditto. The whole silly statement has the potential to cause a lot of problems for live quarry shooters of any species, fur or feather. She should cease trying to justify what she does by slandering that which others do.

I agree, some people who go hunting seem to have this unique knack of irritating others in the rural community who nevertheless support the right to hunt with dogs.

If she says that it causes a HIGH DEGREE of wounding then what studies does she base that on? None. It isn't true.

All the foxes I shoot show a high degree of wounding... huge, organ-destroying wounds... that's what kills them on the spot. If only that were what the noble baroness had intended to say! Unfortunately the damage is now done.

I absolutely agree with your statement that "either she should sing from the same hymn sheet or resign as President". Perhaps any members on here going to the Game Fair would like to drop by the CA's tent and politely but firmly put the point across.

We have heard several similar statements from the Countryside Alliance in the past. Perhaps the organisation should be renamed the CNA - Countryside Non Alliance?
I'm sorry but I won't give such an organisation my support when they are prepared to throw others under the bus.

Looking back, I regret attending the Countryside March in London.

Running hounds generally requires good cooperation between landowners and the hunt team. Shooting less so. Farmers block roads to move livestock and of course blocking a road while the pack is moving through is for safety in both sides. I find as the landholdings get smaller it only takes a single person who doesnt want to cooperate to make it very hard to hunt when you generally need contiguous areas for hunting.

I'm not against hunting itself, just the unbelievable arrogance that seems to go with becoming a MFH

The world has changed so much in my lifetime its unbelievable
We should have one organization and stand together !
The Baroness may have said one wrong line in all the time she has been in the media, I don't know her but in my book shes a good un and has a pair !
I walked down to hyde park with the Scottish march, Im sure now it was one of the things that changed the publics perception, I would do it all again
There are arrogant people in hunting shooting and fishing
To be successful at anything an amount of arrogance or single mindedness is required
I only hope my 2 year old grandson has the chance to experience the things I have, provided he wants to

There's no need to be rude or arrogant no matter how good you are at your job,that's the reason most people disagree with hunting, good manners cost nothing and some of the masters who come from the higher parts of the social structure should know better!

IMHO it was the arrogance that got hunting banned in the first place, not exactly good PR for any sort of country sport is it?
