Wild justice challenge against releasing non native game birds

Google the word "Lawfare", start with the Wikipedia page then dig deeper. It might start to get clearer and we can then plan an attack against this obvious attack on our lawful freedoms.

This is what WJ are trying to do against us CP and his underlings!

Ok chaps - lets see if this proposal is genuine. Let Connor post his thread and let us openly contribute some positive advice. What he does with it is up to him but the least he could do is reply what he has done with the advice and show us the paper which results on 'Policy Formulation' or whatever title he chooses to send to Council.
I'm quite keen to propose a few changes.
If the man has read any of your posts he should have a vague idea what changes you want ;).
The BASC have been around for a few years and should be the experts on all things hunting and shooting. If after all these years of being and their vast knowledge of the shooting world they need to ask for ideas then the game is lost. Perhaps its a bit much to ask for a bit of action from them. I work on the principal of, never have a dog a bark yourself.

I have no sensible answer to what you say, I just dont want to give up quite yet. The future of my shooting is secure I am sure we all want to ensure others will benefit from what we leave behind ?

Perhaps we need, in the long run to look at the definition of "native species". The pheasant has been resident in the British Isles for sometime over a thousand years. Possibly a lot longer if you believe the Romans brought them.

Instead of trying to fight against the likes of Wild Justice who are making a thing of finding loopholes, we should be saying to them: "Oh, a loophole. Thanks for pointing that out. Here's some new legislation/regulations that close it up". Next please.

Spot on, this was always going to happen.
Been a fairly obvious loophole to attack.
They've pretty much gave up the old tactic just wanting a ban as realise not likely to happen, so now targetting specific small things, lead shot ( since when do bird charities test lead % in human consumed meat), now GL, SSSIs, pressure on National trust or any other big land owners, importing birds/eggs, grouse shooting bop and shoot licensing, use of plastics ( shells, wads, very important for step shot) game farms, vandalising pens and shoot disruption
All the above are being actively targeted to some extent the now and that's just wot I can think off and all could have the potential to drastically affect shooting

Althou we shouldn't have to wait until our hand is forced by Muppets like w j, surely basc have enough common sense to think like them and look for the next potential target and start working on it quietly behind scenes with d efra or whoever

Also many of bascs resident critics on here just want basc to come out swinging, not many folk win many fights doing that.
Don't get me wrong the fights NEED to be had but u have to pick the best form of attack for each specific. If u want to win. Just as a boxer or sports team will chose tactics for each fight/ game. Althou the current tatic of almost silence isn't working either
Just swinging wildly could easily put shooting in a worse position as defence is strengthened.
U could easy say w j are in a worse position now with the GL, yes they got some headlines but new GLs should be the same as before but stronger and legally worded.

Why did basc not kick off on social media at the time they were n studio off GMTV and banned?? Could off posted the exact same as p ckham is now and atleast then I'd be the 1st to be banned from telling ur story

Getting very close to fully funded

Our crowdfunder is £4000 short of being fully funded – that’s amazing. Thank you to all who have contributed.
This will allow us to take our legal action all the way through the courts and use the legal system to make Defra review the impacts of unregulated gamebird releases on our wildlife.

If BASC haven't got the scientific evidence, at least the GWCT have !!!! just saying.........:stir:

I bet leigh - day will be rubbing their greedy little hands as it gets nearer to the target,,, I'll bet they even chuck in a few quid themselves..

1,411 'pledges', money obviously not yet received. I hope the 'pledgers' all realise they could wind up paying a bundle more but hey 1,411 is an obviously democratic majority, compared to, e.g. BASC membership numbers.
They run hopelessly unlikely Judicial Reviews - BASC prefers the political route.
In terms of commitment I know what I would like to see.
£28.00 quid pledged by each of the raving antis. I'm sure I could find £50 to kick them into touch. I hope BASC finally get off their political perch, maybe even ask their members to defend shooting by contributing less than their normal annual fee, again.

We tried, we had a live debate with CP himself set up and it was all planned, we had staff down to the studio etc...and at the last moment the TV people pulled us and went ahead with CP on his own...
Was it with the BBC or an independent if it was an independent perhaps packham played you along until the last minute and he was not allowed contractually wise to go on

I think you should be very careful, I would be fairly condfident that the GWCT research has some negative conclusions about large scale release of pheasants , one example is their effects on local reptile populations (they eat the young ones).

It goes the same with large scale free range poultry. They consume everything.
