The Hornady Die has a crimp on it. Read the instructions on how to set it up with using a crimp.
what is happening is the seating die is turned in too far and its crimping the bullet and then pushing case neck down.
what I do with Hornady die is:
take a sized case and it in shell holder. Drop the handle.
turn die until it makes contact with rim. Then back it out half a turn and lock in place.
wind out the bullet seating Adjustment
then adjust it so the bullets are seated to correct OAL.
loud powder and seat bullets.
then if you want a crimp.
wind out the bullet seating adjustment.
wind the die in half a turn till the crimp touches the neck. Then another 1/8 of a turn in. That should be enough to give a crimp.
crimp loads.
you can set it up so you can seat and crimp at same time, but I always find this a pain and you get the inward pushing of case as shown by OP.
