Sorry, I'll try again...I had asked admin to remove one of the posts I made but it seems the whole lot went, but to be fair having had my issue resolved it was heading down an unnecessary path I think.
On the whole both they and their U.K. distributors have acted in an exemplary way to resolve the issue I raised in the other thread, so I have no further axe to grind.
I would hate for them to get negative press for what is fundamentally a great product.
Was thinking the same Steve tbh and the advert words it as titanium core core to me is the internals not just some threadI also cannot help but to feel that I have been missold, as it was the titanium internals that drew me to the design in preference to a small titanium piece with the baffle stack being aluminium. I have two and I am very pleased with the performance but I paid the premium price for premium longevity which it seems will not be there!!
Just lying hear in my digs listening to the ringing myself hence why I have gone to a modGod it’s way easier not using a mod. Nothing worry about but that sweet high pitched ringing in my ears![]()
2 minute job, if that.Sounds like a lot of faffing around to me ,
Having to clean the thing every 2 mins , to keep it from falling apart ,
Sod that
ASE for me ,

I am thinking of changing my old T8 pretty soon as it rattles now which I assume is bits of baffle.
I had looked at Freyr and Devik and was tempted but I had heard rumours that they aren't very well built.
I quite like the look of the Wildcat mods, the centers of them are stainless steel so I would hope they are a bit more hard wearing than the all aluminium/mostly aluminium with a titanium washer in the middle construction.
That or I'll get another T8. I've had three years out of this one and am used to the weight and how it effects the balance.
God it’s way easier not using a mod. Nothing worry about but that sweet high pitched ringing in my ears![]()
Was it a b###er to get apart after that many rounds ? I haven’t put that many through mine buts it’s seized. Any ideas ?I have an F&D mod on my 243, I just took it apart to clean it for the first time since I bought it last year, it has probably fired 200-250 rounds.

Looks like gas cutting to me, not happy as I too thought it had titanium internals.
Yep. Had an Utra for quite a while now and put a helluva lot of 308 and 6.5x55s through it, Yes it is fairly weighty but IMHO ASE defo know how to make mods that last - I have borescoped mine pretty regularly and can see no real deterioration. Similar results with T6 and T8 (heavier than Utra - 380/580 and 660 gms respectively) - all three of which get a liberal blast of WD40 as soon as I get home, repeated any time I am in the man shed - seems to work v well.Really don't get moderator cleaning... how often are you scrubbing your car/motorcycle/quadbike exhaust?
Just buy an ASE UTRA stainless steel one and use till it stops working well (from what I understand this is hundreds if not thousands of rounds) and trade in for a new one, or sell it on SD as 'near new fired a few times works great'![]()

Putting your F&D on classifieds soon @deerstalker.308 ? I've got a slot and would be happy to pay £60![]()
The reason you don't here of many negative reviews is surely down to the fact that this is a relatively new product and these faults are now just coming to fruition. As I previously stated Forestry England had a catastrophic failure on one of their mods and they no longer use then due to this fact.I think you’re reading too much into it. I asked them to delete a post, not the thread, but I suspect admin may have misunderstood my request. It was nothing sinister.
I will send them a on now and find out if it will put your mind at rest?
I am a very happy customer with regard to this product, and am being provided with a new baffle stack when they receive their next shipment. I believe them when they say such occurrences are rare, and also that a lot of the fault attributed to the unit itself can be levelled at poor maintenance regimes on the owners part more often than not.
you honestly don’t hear many negative reviews of them, I’ve had various mods over the years and although there are compromises with all of them, be that weight/corrosion/size/sound attenuation these have been the best I’ve had. Can’t say fairer than that really.
The ASE UTRA SL5i ticks all the boxes.
Shoot em till smoke pours out, stick back into cabinet (after cooling of course) and forget until next use.
