It's got me

Think we’ve just got to get use to catching it and hopefully with no worse symptoms to that of a bad cold. This certainly seems to be the way Boris is now playing it as distinct from those in the seats of power North of Watford.

Let’s hope what I’m calling the South African-like approach/experiment comes good.

Get well soon

Get well soon!
Just come out the other side of what i really thought was covid, daughter, who seemed to catch it from me, tested positive; yet I tested negative.
Rough as tits for a few days, but no worse than a bad cold.
Coincidentally had put my back out, so was off work for a week anyway. Certainly ruined my Christmas. Self isolated, just to be sure, so facetime only with other family members. Still have presents to unwrap, so we are having a little get together this coming weekend.
Ive had all four jabs, vac 1+2, booster and flu.

Good to hear you’re over the worst, and that it turned out to be a bit like a seasonal bug for you.

The people directing the ‘vaccine‘ programme are ever more insistent on its continued rollout, and yet it would appear that in reality, judging by the huge numbers of cases here and in Ireland they are as naught in the face of omicron, which is now the overwhelmingly (90%+) the dominant strain. Taking a step back, it’s not hard to figure out why this might be.

Would you say that the vaccines and ‘more-of-the-same‘ ”boosters“ had been effective in your case?

For what its worth, the vaccine appears to have little impact on my illness. My daughter who is now positive declined the vaccines, and is no worse off for it.

I don't think SA had no choice with this as they can't stop looting also what else follows when unrest kicks off for the reasons it does. The real news never gets shown in many settings with Africa being a very good example.
Go back 40 -50 years with AIDS which was not transmitted by the methods covid is...

I fear you’re a little off topic with the above observation! If however this thread may be used to broaden the debate may I pose the following question:

Who is out of step with who? As in is it England (Boris) who should be following the example set by Scotland and Wales to C-19 restrictions or should those North of Chester be following the bullish approach of the Lowlands?

Bristol nightclub owners will be smiling!

makes me laugh covid numbers through the roof in London but no local lockdown . last year in Newcastle numbers were nowhere near London. but we were lockdown and the smoke was open. there now saying there's going to be no local lockdowns .just restrictions on the whole country. to everyone with covid get well soon and a happy new year

My neighbour has daily contacts with many folk who are dropping off trailers of garden refuse at his composting business, his daughter works at a VW dealers and came down with Delta and then he and wife tested + for the quick test then they had to drive 25kms to a test centre where they showed to have the omicron and they are now locked down for 10 days.

I was relating it to your point abt the SA part of your post

Aids is not head line news but CV is so in the 40/50 years ahead we wont be here to debate it...

Any way I have one more CWD to chop up.... :tiphat:

Our household are self isolating after my daughter has been confirmed to have covid 19 after providing 2 positive LFTs.
The text from NHS confirmed but there was no mention of the specific variant. Now all having to stay at home for 10 days
All this when we are trying to help look after my very ill 89 yr old father in law who was taken from hospital and dumped at his home.
