3 Calibres

I’m flirting with 22-250 or .204 as a fox choice

Thought about .270 but comparing to .308 what’s ammunition availability?

I’d really just like more guns I think 🙄
I recently added 22-250 to my stable and I have fallen madly in love with it, it just makes so much sense, I reckon it would be the last one to leave me now.

.22lr
.22-250
.270

The .22lr for anything pest/small/close and the other two cover everything in the UK (and don't require mucking about with point of aim at all sensible distances).

17hmr for the rabbits as you can take longer shots than a 22lr but remember about wind

22-250 for foxes fast flat round

6.5 creedmoor for deer with the change on to copper it has the potential to deal with all deer species

.22LR for rabbits and grey squirrels
.223 for foxes
6.5 x 55 for deer and daytime foxes ( chosen as ‘next calibre up’ from a .243) where the copper bullet/ 100 grain conundrum may be problematic and the reported low recoil welcome…..

Is that your personal or professional opinion? :stir:

Seriously though I agree, I could probably manage one rifle, I’d need a few barrels for it though.
Both!

Sure I could use one for everything
Where is the fun in that?

Then you become one of the people that says ".XXXrem/win) is the best cartridge EVER" because that is all they have ever used....

Walk quietly
Smell the roses
Shoot all the guns...

If forced to stick to just 3 then my choice hasn’t changed much since this thread began

I can, however be a bit more specific

.22LR - Vudoo with chassis (target) and light weight stock (for the rabbits)

6.5 creed - covers both stalking and target - as above for stocks

Either 9.3 x 62 or 404 Jeff in Mauser 98 - covers hunting and conservation work

Amazingly I’d ditch the Blaser although it was designed for just this kind of flexibility - only because they don’t do a 404 Jeff barrel and bolt
