Disposing of shotguns on my ticket that aren't mine (yet)

Same here. Would have had them done same day but we didn't get keys until 4m30pm so it was about midnight by the time we finished and the bairn needed to go to bed. Van returned by 8am next morning, and cabinets fitted by 9.30 👍. Feo was more than happy with that too.
I have a slight advantage- friend buying my current house so can move out on the Saturday and we got no kids. Also gives me the advantage I can leave kennels in garden for a few days until I get chance to move them.

Good that you have hilighted this as it will probably be a more common occurance in the future with the delays in fac and sgc processing. It would definitely be worth agreeing a date by which ownership is automatically transferred if the guns aren't collected by a certain date, even with friends.

Crikey, am I the only one who had his cabinets fitted the day after moving?
As I said, I needed to wait on new cabinets to be delivered, otherwise it would have been within 24 hours.
I ended up with multiple matching cabinets instead of the mishmash of sizes / colours that we all have after adding one or 2 over the years.

Same day for me.

The guns were only in the car for about 5hrs.
Last time I moved house, the FEO came to inspect a few weeks later, and found my cabinets still lying on their backs on the living room floor among all my other baggage, with guns wrapped up in blankets inside (that's how I transported them).
He seemed happy enough with that 🤣

Was your wife happy?
Stubbed toes all round.

When I view a new house cabinet position is in the top 5 of priorities!

Likewise, the shape of the boxroom was important to us, especially the length of the wall without the window on to ensure we could install the cabinets easily.

What I really wanted was a 3 story house where I could easily build a gunroom on the 3rd floor.

How long does it take to drill a few holes and screw the cabinet to the wall.

@Greenmist

I was trying to give everyone a wee bit of respite, for my posting shite on here, but that just touched a nerve.

Warning: the following post may offend some readers - especially those with a vivid and real imagination.

Now laying in a hot bath (after a shocking morning on the rifle, and then feeding the birds - on an Estate that is so waterlogged; they can only grow rice!) giggling like a child.

Unknown-1.webp

That made me chuckle…
