DSC1 - trained hunter?

The "Large Game Meat Hygiene" section, which is what gives you "trained hunter" status to enable you to sell carcasses to an AGHE, is no longer a standard part of DSC1. It's been moved to DSC2. But you can do it as a separate optional assessment when doing DSC1, if it's offered. That's presumably what you're looking at.
That is the section that deals with Game meat Hygiene as said above, it is part of the DSC1 assessment.

It is still most definitely part of DSC1, one of the five assessments that you must pass to achieve the qualification.
The slight confusion that some have is that DSC1 on its own no longer gives you ‘Trained Hunter’ status; to get this you now need to either progress to DSC2 or undertake a separate Game Meat Hygiene qualification, usually via Lantra or NGO, some providers will offer this as an add on during a DSC1 course for an additional fee.

Ok so DSC1 done and dusted. This was from an edition 9 manual which is the latest. There was a separate multiple choice paper based solely on this section so it’s most definitely relevant!
Plus side is it’s pretty much all common sense anyway so not much time needed to be spent on this bit anyway
