The "Large Game Meat Hygiene" section, which is what gives you "trained hunter" status to enable you to sell carcasses to an AGHE, is no longer a standard part of DSC1. It's been moved to DSC2. But you can do it as a separate optional assessment when doing DSC1, if it's offered. That's presumably what you're looking at.My DSC1 manual has a separate question bank for a trained hunter assessment. Is this a standard part of the DSC1 or is it an additional assessment? Are there two separate multiple choice tests on a standard DSC1?
This isn’t quite correct Tim. I see it...This isn’t quite correct Tim. See my other comment.
Isn't that what he's looking at?The slight confusion that some have is that DSC1 on its own no longer gives you ‘Trained Hunter’ status; to get this you now need to either progress to DSC2 or undertake a separate Game Meat Hygiene qualification, usually via Lantra or NGO, some providers will offer this as an add on during a DSC1 course for an additional fee.
No, from what I can see, he is looking at a DSC1 Manual that was printed before Trained Hunter status was moved which is what is causing the confusion.I see it...
