Steel action rifles

I spent some time with my good friend Alistair Harkness today from @H et Al a trade member on here. Home - . We were at Bisley at Braidwood in the Scottish Borders.

As a. FYI - I have no financial interest in this, just helping a friend out in getting his business going, and thought the SD would be interested to see some footage.

Alistair is the importer and distributor of Steel Action rifles made in Germany, straight pulls with a turn bolt head. Today we tested them with Schmidt and Bender scopes, which he also carries. We tested these with Sellier and Bellot ammo, which Ed @Edinburgh Rifles kindly provided.

Hope you enjoy the footage and embrace the beginning of a new U.K. firearms
company, so I trust the moderators of the forum will not mind me posting this.

Thanks to all!

Looks very good. Please can you tell me where the range is ?

The rifles are available in many calibres, with various wood grades and designs, some classic, and some with thumbhole, synthetics and also with Akila chassis Chassis – Akila

Metal work blued and nitride treated or nickel plated.

5 round double stack or 10 round metal magazines

Awesome stuff!

Whilst I have zero involvement in this, Alistair is doing a great job enhancing the offering to the U.K. market, and I’m just pleased to be able to help him bring it to life a bit

Here’s a video of fast loading and grouping, hope you enjoy:

Thanks, it was a great way to spend the afternoon. I think that was a 6 shot group.

Had the chance to see these rifles in the flesh today.

I'd looked at the brx1, haenel nxt, r93 and r8.

Was a quite skeptical of the "these rifles sell themselves" pre meet chat.

Very very impressed, ordered one. Grateful to @H et Al
Nice one! I’ll be getting myself one in 7x64 at some point this year 💥

We really to take one of these out into the field to see how they perform. They look to be a really good solid rifle.

Real question though is do they make with the bolt on the correct side and with a style of stock a bit more traditional in type?

Having shot them, I can assure they are fantastic! The accuracy out of the box with even factory ammo is astounding! The feeding is smooth and flawless, and ejection is to put it mildly, spectacular!

Sorry, but this calibre list is completely devoid of Gods own cartridges namely,

.222
6.5x55 Swede
7x57 Rigby

Yes I know the 223, 6.5 CM, 7-08 and 7x64 duplicate their performances but. ….

I hope they are available on special order.

To be fair, Steel Action are modern in design and function, so probably cater for that market, and likely a sensible business approach.

Personally I love the classic calibres too, but I’d prefer them in something like Mauser 98 designs and the like.

Saying that, I imagine they’d do custom chamberings upon request.

I’m a classic fan, and to get me excited about a straight pull takes a lot to say the least, but, I’m exited 😀
