Wild Boar in the North Derbyshire / South Yorkshire?

I have spoken to someone who suggested there were wild boar in the north Derbyshire/South Yorkshire area, does anyone know if that is right? Only heard from one person and I am a bit sceptical, anyone the wiser on that?

I'm NE Derbyshire and know a lot of landowners and farmers around here. Not heard anyone mention them or seen any evidence. I think it's unlikely, but that's only a relatively small area in the grand scheme of things.

No, not heard anything here. With the prevalence of dry stone walls topped with wire fence around they’d have to knock through them to move around. I’m sure if that was happening we’d soon hear about it.

I am near Buxton and there is a lot of stone around here aswell, can't see that being suitable and I would have thought they would stand out like t**s on a bull on the moors, maybe north of Chesterfield / Dronfield area?

Never heard of anything but if you drive through Chatsworth park the damage that's been done on the grass looks like boar, but it's Badgers apparently 🤮
