New DNT Zulus V2

Thanks for that slider, what size is the battery now?
Cheers, Ken.
It's now a 21700 battery, allegedly good for 10 hours as opposed to 8 for the previous 18650 battery.

2 batteries and a charger are supplied with the units so I cant imagine running out of power.

That’s good news.
Thanks, KB.

Would anyone here be able to confirm the return to zero on the Zulus mounts? I want to swap between a day scope and a nv using a torque wrench and a pic rail
Hi SG;
I’ve had two Zuluses (Is that the plural?) and both returned near as didn’t matter to zero after swapping between nv and glass scope. No torque wrench used but not everyone has the feel needed when tightening screws etc.
Ken.

Thanks very much, sounds ideal

Be interesting how much extra the bigger battery offers.
8 hours for the V1 is wildly over actual real life values!!

Yeah, don't disagree but if I get 4-5 hrs out of a battery I'll be happy.
Had mine out for the first time a couple of days ago.
Switch on for about 45 minutes while I zeroed it and had a play with the range finder, then out at night for a couple of hours, where it was mostly on standby but again ranging quite a bit.
Still displaying 4 bars when finished.

4 bars will be okay, if it goes- 4 3 2 1 none.
And not 4- gone.

Going to derail the topic slightly.
I have the DNT 25mm. It is great on the air rifle.
But, I think it would be a mahossive improvement if they could get the nv and the thermal to both focus twisting one knob.
I definitely struggle trying to keep both focused. Maybe it is because I am using the smaller one, but it does put me off.
I also think the same for the HIK binos.

Thoughts?

Hmmm. I have the Zulus 5-20 lrf and it is great. The one niggle is also the focus which is very precise/sensitive and needs constant adjustment to keep say an advancing fox in focus. Probably very good technical reason for this but it is a bugger especially when adjusting it I my friend obstructs the IR…

Fit a throw lever to the zoom ring of the Zulus. Makes adjustments much less fiddly

My guess would be that it is capable of focusing down very close to very far for air rifle and rimfire as well as away for centre fire distances. If they limited the available focus range then you'd have finer adjustments over the same amount of rotation.

A similar issue is with target oriented scopes that parallax down to sub 20m for air gun use such as the Delta Stryker 4.5-30. you get nearly 3/4 of the parralax turret for distances 20m to 100m then for 100m all the way to 800m and infinity is just 1/4 turn making adjusting focus at 200m quite tricky.

Low-light capable Glass and a supply of said low light solves this, just sayin’…. again😆

Hi, I am thinking of buying one of these scopes for foxing ZHD - V2- Zulus. Which model would you recommend? The 3x12 or 5x20 My range at night will likely be around 70 - 150 metres, possibly pushing 250 in daylight.
