Very disappointed with the service from my gunshop

I agree that people can all have a bad day. However the last rifle I bought was from Forrest Lodge Guns they steered me away from a secondhand rifle and did an amazing deal on a brand new one which was old stock and only slightly more expensive than the secondhand one! Same make and model.

The rifle was delivered to Bamfords Guns in Lancashire, when I went to the shop they were very busy and one guy was eating his meal behind the counter. He stopped and asked if he could help? I explained I was there to collect a transferred rifle. I didn’t expect him to jump up and leave his hot food but he did . We completed the paperwork and he and a colleague asked to examine and shoulder the rifle.

They didn’t have to but they both exclaimed it was a cracker and remarked that it would give great accuracy and should serve me well. They even helped me to the car with the boxed rifle.
It was just a transfer and little money in it for them but I left feeling delighted!

I think both gunshops deserve my thanks👍.

Its not exclusive to gun shops, Good friend of mine went to buy a Rolls Royce got treated like something the dog had dragged in,After half an hour turned on his heel went off bought a McLaren then drove it round to the Rolls Royce Agent to show him the deal he missed out on.
My 18 year old brother did the same to a BMW dealership then driving round to show them the Audi he bought instead

Must admit

Must admit that does sound top services from both shops.
Esp the 2nd. :tiphat: :thumb:

I know some chainsaw shops can be funny when u buy new saws elsewhere and expect any warranty work to be done their.

Another vote for vale field & game. Mark will always go above & beyond, he knows things & has solutions. Always willing to help. Top bloke, he & his Mrs are both full of banter too, I enjoy the pîśstaking as much as the coffee.

Never been, never seen, I used my Sherlock Holmes hat to deduce the store in question with the cryptic clue the OP gave...
You can please some of the people some of the time ...... 🤷

I think it amazing that you ordered something and the gun shop actually got it in 😂 locally they are very good at talking but the stuff you order never actually turns up 😂

Blimey, couldn't think of anything worse than being a commie spy... closest thing I've ever come to liking about it is a couple of Woody Guthrie songs.

My wife put a deposit down on a tikka t3x for me for Xmas which I went and picked uo yesterday,
Walked in told them the details all smiles checked over the rifle and moderator over the moon, asked for 2 boxes of ammunition again there were all smiles
But as soon as my fac ticket was filled out and I paid they literally just walked away and totally ignored me was putting the rifle away and it was as if I didn't exist
I tried to talk (nothing back)
After what my wife spent i will not be going back there again

Good lord. Shocking.

When I go into Tesco I expect nothing less than a fanfare at the door and personal attention from at least 3 members of staff.

Given the thousands of pounds I spend there yearly, it really is the very least I am entitled to.

Not a gun shop but many years ago a chap walked into a long since gone iron mongers in town was ignored by staff for over half hour to be asked as he went to door can we help you ?
Yeah I only wanted a new Rayburn he said as he slammed the door so hard the glass fell out 😆

Most gun shops locally are all pretty friendly.

Simpson Brothers Gun Shop at Wittering Grange Farm near Peterborough are good. Went in last week to order a new rifle. Was offered a cup of tea or coffee as usual. They spent a good deal of time showing me the PSE stock I’d also asked to have a look at. I ordered a new scope too so was spending a sizeable chunk of change, but a good price was agreed. Everybody friendly. And the shop was busy.

Gun dealers seem to be hit or miss personality wise, but as someone has said maybe its just a sign of the times across the country as a whole.
