.243 to .223, purely for fox 🤔

Too right, the amount of my Mid Walen landowners that have said, "set up in the yard, I've seen them crossing at "X" o'clock "

😆 not at all fussed
One bit of ground I shoot is in a kind of bowl in a valley so the noise carriers well. Rain had stopped play for a few weeks so first chance I got I was out ..at 4 in the morning. First fox arrived nice and quick - .243 barked and the fox was down...and you could hear the echo all up the valley...I think I shot the 4th fox within 5 mins at which point all the lights came on in the house about 300m away...I took this as a sign to call it a night

I did get a telling off from the boss for shooting a fox at 2 in the morning a couple of weeks ago as it was pretty close to the house...and my god shooting one when you are still in a barn makes a hell of a racket (I was in the barn and the fox was on the bank about 100 yards away) :)👍

I have .243, 22.250 and .223, but most of my Foxing is done with the .223 using a 40 grain Vmax and I havent had any bother shooting out to the ranges you mention and beyond, cheap to run and very accurate, easier to shoot than the other 2 due to less recoil, I have mine set to point and shoot out to 300 Yards the Foxes are neat and tidy to pick up, instead of a bag of rags that you get with the other 2, so for me it does the Job

You may need to be careful if your farming family is putting in the hours?
Should have also said that using ones brain and keeping in contact with the landowner is key but didnt really see the need for stating the obvious

If they are clearing 400 acres of silage I steer well clear, or lime spreading at 2 in the morning etc etc. Again the assumption is that there may be anyone about on any of my ground so "safety first" in case of any stupid remarks (not from you of course mate but there is always one idiot who will chirp up 👍)

It's not about safety you wigs!, it's about is your farming family trying catch a few ZZZ's??
  If they want sleep they can control their own pests at a time that suits them

All my permissions get told when I am going out along the lines of - Ok if I start shooting crows next to your mums bungalow at 5 tomorrow morning? Of course, crack on :)👍
