What is the best whisky

Willyroe, got to agree with your choice of 2 and 3 but 2 being my fav, was introduced to Deanston a few year back by my boss who ships it to us over here in West Africa by the crate along with Balvenie. For a blended malt Monkey's Shoulder is a good dram..... If folk are looking for good malts to try at a reasonable price check out Morrison's Malt's of the month good deals to be had.
O forgot to mention Jura and Glen Rothes 21yr are my other favs lol

I've got a new favourite, when I first posted on this thread in 2010 it was Craigellachie 22yo but I recently found Ardbeg Uigeadail and that is just superb. So many good drams so little time!

If you fancy a new experience and are up this way try the whisky club. The one in Leith, Edinburgh is the original one and, as far as I am concerned the best. A cracking way to spend a few hours with some incredible whisky's.

If you want another experience you can visit the "ladies" down the docks after !

With me having to sell my home brew equipment and having to do a little research into what I can and can't drink whisky is allowed thankfully.

My mrs has a budget of £50 to acquire me a bottle. I have tried many a different makes but what's your recommendations for a bottle on the budget.
i have just taken delivery of Scottish natural unformed peat for my fire so I'd like something to be able to go hand in hand more so after a stalk.

I know this will probably raise a debate. I'm not a whisky buff, but do enough a wee dram.
I've tried & really liked macallan & balvinne 15 year old.
Just working my way through a bottle of Bowmore islay malt.
Any other suggestions for a really good malt ?????.
