If i spend a couple of hours flicking through the various forums i belong to it`s not unusual to have to log into each forum more than once.

Any ideas as to why I keep getting `booted`?

I suspect the number of forums is a red herring inasmuch as it sounds on first reaction like a cookie issue - if you have hard settings and only keep a small number this is one manifestation of that as an issue.

Told my mrs about deleteing cookies ... is this what you mean?

Yes - that's one explanation. The other is that because of the policies set on your machine, it will only hold so many cookies and they could be time bound.

However, is it a particular forum you keeping having to sign in on? If so I would revisit the cookie policy for that forum as you may have declined it being held previously.

No forum in particular but i will look at the cookie thingy. Thank you.

What browser? Some have a setting you might have enabled which effectively deletes the cookies when you close the tab. Also, some antivirus software installs browser plugins which may be blocking or removing session cookies.

Internet Explorer Alex.
Thank you, my Mrs is going to have a look.

Don't leave us hanging! What did you do?
Tools .. Internet options. Then she unclicked a box saying Delete Browsing History On Exit.

If you need any help in the future Alex please don`t be afraid to ask. :D

Ok, same thing but on iPhone, since IOS7 it logs me out of forums as soon as the window is closed.
How do I stop it doing that, never did it until the coming of IOS7
(seems to be a common problem)

Neil. :)

LOL! But that was my suggestion! :D

I use IO7 on an iPhone 4S, an iPhone 5 and an iPad and don't have this problem. Being Apple there aren't really many settings to tweak. Check Safari settings and try unchecking "Do not track" and/or make sure "Block Cookies" isn't set to Always. Failing that try Clear Cookies and Data to reset your cache.

I have done all that, spent ages on various apple help forums, seems I'm not the only one affected.
It has been suggested elsewhere that a full restore and fresh update to IOS is the cure, but not sure I want to do that, yet

Neil. :)
