A word to my British friends from a Canadian.

Good informative opening post.
I was talking to someone here from Newfoundland for a wedding and he was surprised how clued up I was on the legislation there :).
He shoots a Lee Enfield in the original .303 using 180g soft points and every other year takes a moose. Seems that rifle and bullet combo is quite common there.

It was and still is to a large extent only because of the military surplus. No modern rifles are chambered for the cartridge. It gets the job done.
