"All Gun licences to be digitised under new Palantir deal to run national firearms database"

So no licensed guns then 🤣🤣
No I’m legal šŸ˜‚ just live on one of the very few molehills in Norfolk where I’m privileged enough to be able to walk out my gate and go stalking and not really have to give a **** about what the rest of the world up to brilliant you should give it a go!

Need to find a hut on a hill first 🤣🤣 joking of course but ngl that sounds well good. I’ve got access to Roe and Red 30 mins from my door so it’s pretty good but a wee house outside the entrance would be braw

You’re thinking too much!

As long as all your T’s are crossed etc and your legal what’s the worry?

If it all goes tits up, it’s their problem not ours and as long as you’ve got your arse covered there’s nothing g to worry about.

I don’t think the ā€œif you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fearā€ argument will ever be a good reason to harvest data on the way the likes of Palantir or Cambridge Analytica have in the past.

Even the most mundane personal information can be used to discriminate or persecute people in the wrong hands.

Well you worry about you and I’ll let them get on with it and do as I always do and that’s carry on regardless šŸ‘

I've been legal since the 80's, always have been, however in that time I've had firearms restricted and banned and more hoops to jump through with added cost and inconvenience to me, so yes I give two hoots
Well the truth of the matter is, there is bugger all you or anyone else can fo about it, is there?

it’s just the way it is now these days I’m afraid, it’s going to get worse yet and it will cost more without a doubt!

Do you want to carry on then you pay your dues and get on with it I’m afraid there is no choice in the matter if you want to keep your guns.

With the current shooting orgs that is the case, none of them have any fight in them. However, pointing things out to MP's about inefficiencies and security issues raises concerns with them. It worked with the recent sect2 to sect1 debate, no one said we have to accept things quietly

That’s not necessarily true. There have been numerous instances where past, completely legal and innocent behaviour has lead to persecution by new governments. That is the issue.

Ai sifting police data discovered;
"A series of documents reveal how police discovered about 130 staff "falsely or erroneously" recording more than 30,000 breath tests and the fallout that resulted.
RNZ can now reveal that the investigations began after a new mapping feature identified a police officer recorded 11 breath tests over a five-minute period over a distance of 3.5km."

He resigned, there is an upside to this Ai.

Depending on how the software for the sift is written. It will have bias, basically you all are a risk to begin with..

Loss data of sovereignty due to its held in a corporate data centres in the US where they can sift everything under US law. Probably the data centre with the lowest price per terabyte run by who knows who as Palantir do not own a data centre.
Imagine trying to chase redress for unreasonable losses via this system.

Of course there is the mosaic effect where your online behaviour is sifted, so no privacy and really as there is no legal protection and corporates are notoriously interested in making money wherever it's legal.

Digital ID for company directors. Digital ID for armed forces. Digital ID for new borns. Digital ID for internet access. Digital ID for FAC holders.

Digital ID.

Gated freedoms, not empowerment.
And now we have digital ID for cars also with real time facial and voice monitoring.

"Wrong speak" as defined by, and "flexible" as/for, the crime syndicate running the show needs it to be for that moment for that one case (it will be different for other cases), i.e. not clearly defined at all, and off your car is switched. Along with your credit card, bank account, internet, and passport cancelled, just to be sure.

Welcome to 1984 / The Matrix.

Gateway for 2 year licenses I bet, faster and easier renewals, same or higher renewals fees, but suddenly doubled or more due to shorter renewal timeframe. They’ll argue more frequent mental and health checks can be made which will make society safer, etc.
you’ll also find the new system trawls all social media with a list of trigger words or collated replies to specific types posts - it will likely be able to access your IP and possibly have access to internet history.

This, is not a good thing,.

This is the point so many people fail to grasp: when any and all parts of your life can be turned off, democracy dies.

Digital ID is not a 21st century iteration of ID: it is a permissioning and taxation system that can be tweaked according to the whim of the entity driving it. [national government / W.H.O. / U.N. ]

How many feel that the current government represent their wishes? How many feel that if they were to voice an opinion on immigration, national security, the economy, etc would find themselves at variance with the current government?

If we all have cars, bank accounts, passports and health services that require Digital ID, will we voice our true feelings and risk those facets of our life being turned off? Or will we kowtow to The Party diktats mutely?

And certain pubs and clubs in North and South London, in Manchester and elsewhere they'll all be wondering what is a Firearm Certificate and do they need one for their Olympic Arms .380 conversion. Or maybe not.
