Get a .30-06 instead.
.25-06 is great but difficult to get ammo for, when you can it's expensive.
.30-06 ammo is more available, cheaper and in a much greater range of weights etc.
Plus, .270 is DEFRA's minimum recommended calibre for boar so with .30-06 you're okay for shooting pigs.

And with 25-06 you’re ok shooting pigs..... or 6.5 or .243

I’ve had a number of rifles in 25-06 many really accurate 700’s a couple nice Sako’s and a couple Ruger #1’s . I’ve used 100 and 115 BT’s Handloaded to kill several deer also the Hornady 117 SST . Don’t have a 25-06 at the moment but not to say I wouldn’t get another . I do at the moment have a 6mm-06 and a 6.5-06 .

As above, the bullet weight range in 3006 makes it far more adaptable than the 25. Handloading will only increase that, however shop bought ammo seems to be a narrow choice in 25 here in UK.
If you intend traveling abroad you'll find 3006 ammo readily available, asking for 25 abroad often results in a blank stare.

I have both BUT imo don`t dither just get the `06 instead,load up or load down for roe or reds.

I have used the 25-06 and like it. Its an ideal calibre for hinds out on the open hill. Basically point and shoot out to 250 plus yards and it hits hard. But it is quite specialised and its a bit too fast for closer range deer. I nearly bought one but the seller had been using it mostly for Roe at sub 100m and it was making a mess and most of my stalking is now roe on similar ground so stuck my 243.
I had a 25-06. Very accurate, only home loads used. Killed a lot of roe, red and sika. It killed them very well. I don't think I would have another one though. I would recommend looking at the various bullets within the weight range of bullets you want to use. Look at the bullets that kill well and with a high bc. Then look at the case design. Look at what target shooters are using and why they are use them. You want the same qualities as they do with the addition of a good killing bullet. I don't think you will see many guys using the "06" case for serious target stuff. Keep in mind the non lead bullet issue. That's what I done when I had shot my 25-06 out and it lead me to get it rebarrelled in 6.5-284
