Anybody else ride motorcycles? Post them here.

Very happy days, Kent Custom at Dymchurch then Detling, the Bulldog was something else, drinking all day and ‘dancing’ all night in some amazing Trance tents.
We actually counted a 200+ Harley ride out, now the noise was spectacular and we all made it back without anyone getting bagged despite a few minor spills.

Well here's my jalopy. Like many on here I guess, I've had a rake of different bikes since the mid '70s. But I bought this one in 2009 when it was a year old and kept it up until today. So I guess I must like it. Picture taken today.

For those that wonder, it's a Honda CBF1000 GT mk1. The GT model came complete with a full fairing (not just the top bit, as others did), and hard panniers and a top box, which obviously are at home in the garage at present. The engine is an inline four stolen from the Fireblade of the time and re-jigged to better suit a sports tourer. It's been totally reliable, as you'd expect from a Honda, but they are known for stators going, although mine hasn't. Yet. It's only needed consumables and the only thing I've changed is the handlebars because they were looking a bit rusty. Which reminds me, it'll need tyres imminently. Anyway, these days it gets used on fine summer days only really.

Sold a guy my 701 husky supermoto four weeks ago with 500 miles on the clock
Got sent a picture yesterday of the bike broken in half on a bypass
Utterly destroyed.

thought I would have a little ride out, so headed off to Faro for last weekend (well Tuesday to Sunday), just over 1300 miles each way in stupid temps, having to move tent at 2.30 am due to a fire not too far from camping area.... first time i have managed to get there in many years of meaning to. well worth it and wish i had done it before.... oh my clubs rally is the next one to look forward to.... this being retired in busy work, my next unplanned weekend is mid Sept! only real hassle was the heat did in the ignition switch plunger so even with key out everything was live so had to unpack and disconnect battery if leaving bike ... luckily only happened on ride back. Some good memories from the Kent Custom Bike show........ Mrs O got food poisoning, I missed seeing Debbie Harry because of it - and a long 500 mile run home after all that, then the next year seeing that fine upstanding Gary Glitter chap....... ahem....... however, one of the best shows I've seen..... not that I would shout about it!

How did you find the 701 as I've sat on one and fancied it?
Presumably with such low miles it/ you didn't gel.
