Anyone hanging red deer in a domestic/Drinks fridge

Looking at the prices of fridge van backs and walk in chillers considering just buying a big commercial fridge or a three in one chest freezer/fridge/chiller combo. Wondering if anyone has done the same and if there is any downside to having a carcass laid horizontally to vertically. TIA

yeah looks like plenty of space, just wondering if ill get a stag in or if it might need a bit of breaking down:-|, cheers for the pic very helpful.

I made a frame for the top using 1 inch box section and drilled through two legs and through the chiller, fitting lifting eyes through and sealing them. Maximum height as it only takes around an inch and a half of length instead of rails. Had decent stags/hinds in it

Found a pic, fallow buck hung there. The hardest part of reds being in it is getting them there in the first place without any winch or anything. I've also hung off the H bones with a long s hook if I've struggled for space.

If it's just for your own consumption, then don't even bother. The hassle of getting a whole animal in something like that is just mad. Have done it with younger beasts before and that was an effort....can't imagine it even possible with a proper mature animal. Just break them down and hang the legs/shoulders/saddle up individually. Much easier and still eats jsut fine.

Best to just break it down then into the fridge. Used to have a big commercial fridge but putting a decent red stag into it just bent the hanging system I had plus it never really fitted anyway so now it get broken down before going into the fridge.
