I was a biker up until my Health went down hill and I love your Ride here!! Always loved motorbikes, my Dad rode til he was 80!! I could manage a Trike now, so if Billy Connolly doesnt want his anymore, I will have it! lol

I`m sorry,, don`t you believe me? ! lol I`ve proved it to a few before .

Nice reply by the way,, well thought out

Sorry, Old Chap - having (amongst other things) helped engineer Kevin Schwantz to the World Championship on his 500cc two-stroke, talk of supposedly 'fast' motors leaves me cold. If you can drift both front and rear wheels at 180mph, then I might sit up and take notice.

well paddy that reply stops all from saying they hav been on or with fast bikes lol he was one of my all time fav riders on the 500s and still around paddocks to this day

Gosh,, wow ! I can undersand how you are soooooo blase !

Must be murder when the rest of the worlds so crappy eh ?

What a great thread this has been, a trip down memory lane taking me back to buying the first Norton International to come into Yorkshire with a 'featherbed' frame, enclosed valve gear, around 1954/55, superb!! I swapped it for a HRD Rapide and swapped that for a Black Shadow, then discovered 'Girls'.
Had a nasty attack of old age this year and will probably not shoot again. It creeps up on you when you are not looking!!
Certainly have no regrets, been there, done that !
Cheers,

Brianm

Good stuff Paddy.... I remember being at a Donnington GP when Schwantz came round Redfield and into Craner Curves, front wheel in the air, drift steering it on the rear wheel and looking over his shoulder to see where everyone else.. It was at that point I worked out I was a mere mortal!! (Brrr ... just put a shiver down my spine thinking about it! Fantastic!)

My greatest regret was going on holiday to Jersey with the GF and missing Sheene sticking two fingers up to Roberts.. but then he lost it on the way to the finishing line. And I didn't even realise it was on the campsite's telly... gutted I've never seen it.

My bikes.. Raleigh Runabout ('about' 2 weeks before I seized it... my pushbike was faster), Yamaha YL1E 100cc twin, Yam YDS6 250(got turned into a cafe racer when I got knocked off), Yam RD400, Kwack GPZ600, Kwack Z650 (sniff, wiping tear, wish I still had it), Honda VF750, a new Honda VFR750FL(M?) when the single sided swing arm came out... and then the dogs dangles of all dogs danglies..... a 30. Yee ha, sex on wheels, totally instinctive to ride, controlled by thought alone.

Still sits in the end of the kitchen (Isn't that where everyone keeps their bikes??) waiting for the day.
