Good morning all I’m looking for a good butchers saw, must be stainless steel don’t want a cheap thing off eBay something that’s going to last, don’t mind paying for good quality what’s everyone using ???

This will go against what you want, but…. It was a tip given to be by a chef. Go to your local hardware store, buy a wood saw, cost me £7, use it for a year and throw it away if it gets blunt.

Works perfectly for me. Just saying.

Good point but they take some cleaning after use and go rusty very quickly, just thought a stainless steel one would last longer

Hello,
Kamlock do a very good saw.
Made for butchers and supplied by Scobies Direct (have a look at their website) under sundries.

Well worth the money and used in many cutting plants throughout the UK.

As a tip from someone who works in the trade the bigger the better! 😉
Blades etc all are available on the site….

Good luck!🤞

Or buy a full size hacksaw and replace with stainless butchers saw blades. A place near me sells the blades for £2.70

I'm currently on pïss with butcher from out farm shop, he says this

I posted this on another thread recently but I’ve switched to a makita reciprocating saw. The blades switch out so it’s easy to clean, you can use different blades for different application (finer blades for jointing, coarser for splitting carcasses in half etc.) and it takes no time or effort at all. I’ve sold all my hand saws and am considering selling my bandsaw as I just don’t use it as much nowadays. I’m fairly certain makita do a smaller version that the 18v I’ve got which I’m sure would work and be even handier but I already had the batteries to make this one work.
