Depends on the weights…the newer dmax (1.9’s) are car speed limits - the older ones are not I believe.Pretty sure the DMax has car speed limits, does the L200 too?

The Series 5 certain has. Car speed limits apply to commercials under 2040kg unladen weightPretty sure the DMax has car speed limits, does the L200 too?
One of the very few pickups that are under the weight limit. Part of my disappointment at having to buy a Hilux last year as new L200s are no longer available.my series 5 L200 is allowed to go at 70mph.
I think they will go up. Sales of new ones will plummet after July for those being used as company vans as the vast majority of other car options will be cheaper on BIK.Hopefully lots of pickups soon to hit the market at reduced prices!
Nissan Navara just squeezes in at less than 2000kgIf the keb.weight of your dual cab pickup is less than 2040 kg it's classed as a dual purpose vehicle and can follow car speed limits. Most modern dual cab pickups are above this and have to follow van limits as you say.
My old Hilux Invincible's V5 states 2039 kg, I imagine they left the underseal off to keep the weight down.Nissan Navara just squeezes in at less than 2000kg
I have been done for it. 70 on a dual carriageway. My fault as never knew at the time as had never driven a van beforehandHas anyone ever been done for it thou?
Quite often the Bobby basic version L200, hilux, ranger etc are under 2040kg but the top end models are over.
I know when the wildcats 1st came out were definitely over but normal rangers were under.
Only way I could ever see u getting done is with some sort of 'smart' camera that accesses a data base with ur number plate to see wot it registered as and then compares ur speed.
Ur fine at 70 on a mway ( I think, beginning to doubt myself now)
it's just 50 on an A class road.
If ur doing 58 or even 60 on an A class road can't see a normal speed safety van or polis really taking much notice of u.

You would be wrong, I was done a few years ago doing 58mph in a 60mph on A9 at Ballinluig at 6pm on Friday evening, I was in no hurry and seen camera van on bridge didn't think anything of it. £100 3 Points, tried appealing but not a chance should of been doing 50mph in commercial vehicle.Has anyone ever been done for it thou?

I was done on the infamous A9 average speed cameras. SP10 with I'm sure 3 points and £120 fine.Moral, colinbr
And are ur vehicles over the 2040kg and registered commercials?
Did they check ur door plate.
Just shows u, I didn't think they would nab u for it.
I have to admit I thought ur were allowed to do 70 on mways.
I'm not a fast driver but been past speed van plenty of times at 55-60, it is a fast bit of road. And never worry or brake.
Touch wood never been done yet.
Mibbee not as clued up operators as ur man.
JLR commercial variants have car speed limits- despite having a commercial (van) VIN number
