Hi Guys,
So after events earlier this evening, it has left me wondering. If it was just a coincidence or the effects of the full moon ? Apparently it's a Wolf Moon tonight, whatever that is ? So read on for the detail if interested otherwise just comment on your views of people's behaviour around a full moon.
So, I guess for a lot of us that, walking the dog is a form of ground hog day. For me the chat to various other dog walkers and sightings as I had yesterday evening of 3 Muntjac within 10 minutes of home can be a welcome break to the norm. But this evenings walk, albeit a little later than usual has left me wondering if indeed there is something to the term 'Lunatic.'
As I came across a cyclist pushing his bike in the woods just as it was getting dark. I had taken my glasses off as to me they become anti-vision devices in low light. So without my glasses and because of all his gear I couldn't tell how old he was but could see he was finding the liquid mud a struggle. I asked him if he was ok and wanted help? Which it turns out he clearly wasn't ok. As A 70 + year old gentlemen who had, his words, died twice with a stroke and who was now lost and struggling in the mud as he had decided to deviate from his usual recovery fitness plan as he was bored with riding round the roads. So thought he would ride in the woods.
Needless to say my planned route was postponed as I aided him out to a road he knew and a quick call to his wife settled her fears as he had been gone sometime apparently. I think it will be sometime before she lets him out alone again. So in my mind. Good deed done for the day but decided to change my route as now running even later. So was now not going to see the lights of Southend from up high in the dark. My new route took me across 2 cars on a private entrance to a ex-farm house and could hear young guys. I considered swerving and going back the way I had come to the liquid mud. But if I passed them the route was much better. So decided to continue on my route. When I walked past them I realized there was 3rd car and for some reason the driver despite the months of rain thought it might be a good idea to drive down hill onto the field. Needless to say that car was never coming back up to the track.
Being a coward I walked well past before I called to them and said they would never get the car out the field without a tractor. After a brief chat and there bizarre reasonhing of there current issue. I offered to mind my own business but equally said that if they wanted I could call the farmer and ask for assistance but considering what they had done a fair bit of grovelling and payment to the farmer would probably be required. Needless to say the farmer was not very impressed when I called him and explained the situation. In truth I don't even really know the farmer but used to shoot the farm next door and his boundary so have his number.
So if you read this far. Just a coincidence or does a full moon( wolf moon) really affect people to make flawed judgement ? As tonight has left me wondering.
