Thanks for offering this suggestion for the fair. I am more than happy, as I know my friend will be also, to set something up for H4H.

I will start and offer a weekend at sika hinds for 2 rifles for 2013/14. How does £5 a raffle ticket for that sound, tickets to be purchased on the day?

I really don't want to put pressure on the site owners but maybe the SD stand could be the selling point for that side of things? Otherwise I will do it at the stand I have at the fair promoting the stalking I have on offer.

Brian this sounds great :thumb: there are quite a few stalkers in my area and if there is a good local b&b (cheap enough for yorkshiremen  ) to stop overnight maybe we could share a motor if anyone is interested ? DF
I'll make one Bob as long as we can sort the digs out first.

Great idea just the job :)

I will bring the Gamekeeping students along and the offer is here to you help with setting up etc as 12 + guys can move / shift stuff whatever is needed. This sort of event is badly needed.

Talk to you soon

Regards
Alan

First track today for 3 weeks except for one on a live deer as I had ran out of skins (will get scent shoes this week). 300m 4hrs old. Dragged small piece of skin and feet on sticks. NO BLOOD!

She had to cross a 1/2m wide stream and also 3, 45deg turns all because of the ground and the trees. It was a new piece of ground that has a good number of roe deer on it. All strange to her. I had to grip the tracking lead only 3 times and just enough to concentrate her. The track was marked with pegs. Very pleased with the result. My oldest son laid the track and he could not believe how good she was at it. She got to the stream, came back on her self for about 3m, then turned back to it and jumped over to pick up the track. Very pleased with her progress for not being 7 months old yet.

Well done. I'll make Helen read this. May be I can then get Bia home for some serious training. You are well ahead at the moment.

It is far from flawless! She still behaves like a young dog. She does things very methodically though which is a good thing, and does not charge off and get herself lost on the track.

You cannot blame a young dog for being a young dog! But what you describe sounds pretty good to me.

Good news today, McLeods of Tain confirmed their attendance at the Fair!

For anyone who has not been in Gregor's shop in Tain, they carry a massive stock of firearms and if they are not the biggest they are certainly one of the largest stockists of Blaser rifles in the country (that will no doubt excite some on here!!!). Gregor will have a good number of them on display at the fair including hopefully some nice side by side rifles which may interest the big game/boar hunters on here! He will also have a range of all the latest Swarovski and Zeiss optics with him as well.

He is a good bloke to deal with for anyone coming with open slots on their tickets!!!!

I have bought just a few rifles from Gregor over the years, always found him to be one of the best retailers I have dealt with and I know he will enjoy the social side of the fair as much as the business...
