Deerstalking Fair, 23/24 March 2013

I have bought just a few rifles from Gregor over the years, always found him to be one of the best retailers I have dealt with and I know he will enjoy the social side of the fair as much as the business...[/QUOTE

+ 1 There's no doubt Gregor is a hard man to beat on the price of tikka T3's and a very helpful & knowlegable bloke.

Rgds, Buck.

The website is now up and running for the fair, so feel free to leave messages on its pages. (nice messages only though...)

The section covering who is coming will be updated regularly. there will be some changes to the site as time goes on but at least now folk can see what is going on with it.

I was also disappointed that we never got up to Scone at the weekend, so anyone who has heads to measure can bring them to the CIC guys at the fair next March.

Oh buxxer, buxxer really pixxed off now Scone cancelled can't make Moy due to clients, can't make this either
always chasing my tail at the Doe's, can't start them till the game shooting season is finished, have European clients that weekend Thursday through Monday.

However good luck with it I am sure it will be a winner.

Thats a pity BT, we thought that leaving to it that late on would not impact too much on folk with the stalking...

Damn. Working in Dubai the week before and normally back on the Friday but decided to pop over to Oman for a weekend fishing :(

If your going to do displays do you think you could arrange for a hill stalker to demonstrate how they put a big red stag on a garrion. Its something Iv'e always wanted to see, instead of draging it into the back of a landy.

Thanks CVK

My mate had spoken about it for about 3 or 4 years and now we decided to go ahead with it. So much organisation but if it goes the way we hope we think it will be a fantastic weekend, especially becasue of the folk we have attending to do short talks on different aspects of stalking combined with the traders that we know are coming already, and that includes asome off the SD who are showing an interest.

At least this one will be inside so unless the roads are blocked with snow it will be going ahead!!!

sorry to intrude on this thread but was just hoping to get in touch with jamross65 as his inbox is full and i cant get through to him, Ian

Jayb and myself have discussed this and as far as I am aware the SD site will be there and fully supports this kind of event.

However what I would like to know is where can I find suitable accommodation BB or small hotel nearby that takes dogs, a I will have both of mine with me. So if anyone can give me a heads up I would be gratefull.

Thanks

Sounds awesome - I'm about as far away as it's possible to get but if I can tie in some stalking to be up there the same time then I defo will be!

I am in discussions with a couple of local hotels to see what deal they will offer for traders or exhibitors attending the fair, so the rooms can get booked up well in advance. As a lot of hotels around us cater for visiting sportsmen, several are more than happy to allow dogs in the rooms, one in fact allows 2 dogs per room!

As the SD is having a stand, I will let you know what is on offer as a soon as I have that info.

For anyone else attending there are numerous hotels and B&B's in Kelso and surrounding area. Jedburgh, Coldstream, Newtown St Boswells, Melrose and Lauder are all within 30mins drive of the event and that is because of the back winding roads as opposed to the distance.

You are right at the end of the roe does BD but I know a couple of lads within 30mins drive of the fair that take out clients and I am certain they would be able to fit you in. Not expensive either.

Hey Jammy will save that head to get done by the CIC boys lets try and keep them busy.

6p, just off the phone to Tony Dalby-Welsh firming things up with him with regards to the CIC attending. he is hoping there will be a good number of heads presented at the fair for measuring but also that anyone attending may even bring heads already scored along for display on their stand as well, especially abnormals or exceptional high scoring golds. I know George won't miss an opportunity to show off his 186 point monster so no doubt it will feature over the weekend!
