Thanks for all the support and interest so far. I have been away for a few days and hope to get some more of the names that have confirmed their attendance up on the website soon. It is looking good thoug!!!

Assuming I am not away with work or on a course, I will be there.

Right, lets get this slush fund built up! I may need it......

Some update with the details of traders and exhibitors that have said they will be attending the fair.

McLeods of Tain
Bushwear
Nomad
Country Covers
Game and Country
BASC
BDS
Holkham Deerstalking
Moray Outfitting/Stalking School
Muntjac Trading
Stalkers UK
Borders Taxidermy
Precision Rifle Services
SGA
Dryburgh Abbey Hotel, (3rd Year as Sporting Hotel of The Year Winners and one of the sponsors of the fair)
Flemish Hanoverian Scenthound Society

Stalking Directory
Highland Game
Fusion Stock Works Ltd (Simjim33 from the SD)
Border Toyota
Rutherfords Of Earlston (Isuzu, Arctic Cat and Kawasaki Dealer)
Evolution Rifles (Dennis Groom)

This is not an exhaustive list but there are a similar number again that have to get back to us with a 100% conformation so in fairness to them I will await that before putting up their details, although I am quietly confident!

However, custom knife makers, larder equipment suppliers, clothing and footwear suppliers, refrigeration and vacuume packing, sporting agents and estates, as well as other suppliers of firearms, optics and reloading equipment all feature on that list, so as things are going just now given there are still 8 months to go it is shaping up very well.

As mentioned at the start of this thread, there will be 4 or 5 short presentations on the day from several of the above exhibitors who will also spend the weekend on their own stands answering questions in their field of expertise!

Did I mention there will also be a bar and catering at the fair??? ;)

Bar? We'll have 'lost' Diverdave then! :D

We will answer to almost anything, but its Moray Outfitting/ Stalking School. Moray Trading was that bloke Dell 'Boy' McTrotter... ;)

Serious - good going - thats an impressive list.

You might have a word with J R Dalziel of Bellshill. They are a national supplier of all things to butchers & retail outlets. They have depots nationwide. 01698 749595 www.dalziel.co.uk

Their Chorley branch annually gives talks to BDS North West and the company supplies everything from seasonings to slicing machines, including stuff like gambrels etc etc.
Cheers, G

Thanks G

I will give them a call. We do have a company likely to attend that sells small to medium chills, vacuum packers and similar larder equipment but nothing wrong with having another there!

Galloway Stalking Supplies
Monarch Country Products
Swarovski UK (probably in conjunction with McLeods Of Tain)

Above are the latest additions to the list of traders/exhibitors attending the fair with more still to confirm which is great news for us and those visitors attending.

The only glitch we have had so far is to the fair's websit in that our IT expert (my mates future son-in-law) has been out the picture with broadband because of a house move, and now the poor guy has been told to expect a berevement over the next 2 weeks. Under those circumstances we do not want to push him with regards to developing the site so may have to look elsewhere to get that done. The wheels are turning slowly on the 'cheap deals' hotel side of things for traders a bit as well, but that is the speed we work to in the Scottish Borders! More news on that hopefully later this week.

On a positive note I have been asked to do an article for the fair for a future magazine publication, which will hopefully take place this week. We are hoping to incorporate the interview with a stalking outing to make it a bit more interesting. I cannot say too much about it just now but it means a lot of exposure for the fair and obviously those traders attending as well.

Border Gunroom
Garlands

Above are now also attending the fair...

Border Gunroom is a local RFD and carry a large stock of new and secondhand rifles.

Being the importers, Garlands will have an extensive range of Sauer rifles on display at the fair, among others...

JLD Sporting are a company offering bespoke stalking trips in the UK and safari's in Africa (hunting, photographic and fishing)

Eden Valley Venison are gamedealers working throughout the borders region (north and South) and will also in the future be offering stalking holidays.

Ever thought of getting the tv (Landward) or radio (Out of Doors) to do a feature on the day.
Might be very good publicity for stalking.

cannot say too much just now but something in the offing regarding publications being involved. may be worth looking into the Tv side of things tough...
