It seems a new Tick born virus is gradually spreading across eastern Europe. Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever is carried by ticks and is mainly associated with those who work with livestock. It cannot at present be spread from human to human, unless through blood or bodily fluids.

It has not been reported in the UK, although most scientists think its only a matter of time. Migrating birds being one way the disease could arrive in the UK. By all accounts there is no cure at present, and its pretty lethal. Up to 40% mortality rate .

Its unlikely any stalkers or country folk in the UK will fall foul of this new virus, but again its worth mentioning that we should all be vigilant with Ticks and the diseases they carry. Lyme is bad enough and becoming more common in the UK.

It can also be contracted by bodily fluids from a contracted person also beware of the latest type bird flu that appears to be a very virolent type that may be transferable too.
