Good Service from BASC Wrexham

Rang today to inquire about my DSC2 cert as 6 weeks has come and gone.

Initially, no answer. A bit miffed as reception is poor where I am and have to walk back and forth to get line. Leave a message with my DMQ number.

About 5 mins later I get a missed call, lady on the phone confirms my qualification but DMQ not doing certs at the moment (understandable given CV19).

Offers to send me confirmation that I have qualified, ring back to confirm email. Email received within 30 minutes of my first call.

All said and done, good service. BASC gets a lot of flak (I myself have been a vocal critic on their 'lead ban', not a BASC member either) but their office staff seem top notch, especially since they are working from home.

For anyone else waiting I was told there will be a backlog for the certs.

I had a problem with BASC last week, But I had a phone call from the head of firearms to discuss my issue.
I can honestly say that he was very apologetic for the issue I had, expressed his disappointment in what had happened and asked if I wanted to raise a formal complaint !

I did not want to create a mountain out of a molehill and happily let him sort the problem.

But was impressed that my issue was Not ignored or brushed aside.

I started this thread with intention of highlighting the fact that my experience with BASC on the office front has been quick and efficient, and not just on this occasion.

That is all, I'm not a BASC member but I have used their services in the past and the people that I spoke to dealt with my query or problem quickly and efficiently.

A dislike for some of the policies or direction of an organisation should not translate to thinking that it can do no right, vice versa applies as well.

I was not BASC bashing just curious why somebody could not print the certificate because of covid19. I made no mention of BASC. Why do you have to get all defensive about something that was not aimed at you.

My apologies to you, it just makes my p155 stir that the mear mention of one organisation gets the same usual response, and as I say above would said response come had the guy of said one of the other organisations.
Maybe so from you possibly however one person "who will probably just put an emoji underneath" would have been full of praise probably had it of said SGA not BASC with the same post from the original poster.

Most people only join for the insurance and I decided that I would take out stand alone insurance and not supply any of the organisations with more money to waste. Perhaps because the SGA has a set of balls and doesn’t seem to think instant capitulation is the answer ? May I ask what is it about the voice you’re so enamoured with ? .... genuinely curious .

As do I sir , I was a big supporter of the gwct and the ngo , doing charity stalks for them etc , how ever once they joined the welcoming bandwagon I voted with my wallet and joined the sga , the problem is 99% of shooting folk don’t care about what the org is doing , just that they have insurance . Which will be no good when we’re banned .

well if like me you are working from home you might not have access to a printer, or the fact that many staff may have been furloughed so that half the people are doing all the work and more to keep things floating so you simply do everything in a timely manner. I have people chasing me to price some parts but I have to spend more time on high priority issues, such as ppe for the staff or whatever. etc etc etc.

Every company will be exactly the same. So in my opinion that is not BASC specific. I'm having issues with company's that I spend over £100,000 with.
