Now Mrs Finnbear is very adept at cutting herself with kitchen knives that I have sharpened, I have to take on this duty, as Mrs Finnbear likes to macerate cabbage & the like with two knives crossed over in a two handed fashion,(Yeah,! I know there are food processors out there), Mrs Finnbear tends to injure herself on a regular basis, I make the plasters easily reachable!, Today, I had not done my duties in the sharpening dept as regards the kitchen, so I fell back on a large stalking knife that I keep for bleeding shot Reds, A Gerber manufactured item by the model description "Harsey Hunter", If I had wished I could have carved todays beef joint thin enough to resemble that pseudo bacon stuff, that you can read the paper through, with this knife,....... I ordered two more of these knives from the states five years back, as I was so impressed with their construction & edge holding ability,So now it's back to the washing up & the sharpening detail!

Make sure you give them a good scour with panshine, I mean Vim then before putting them away L.O.L

Correct if I am wrong here Vim but i might be wrong i thought it was yourself who was trying to take the urine by posting up a picture of my long standing stalking knife complete with silly remarks.

I notice that Muir here has just purchased one very similar good choice in my view and I am sure it will serve the man well for many years to come, To be honest I thought you was banned on here for stirring it, now you should know me by now if someone tries to take the urine out of me they usually finish up getting verbally grolloched, Your choice I might add. L.O.L

I`m also in agreement with your view on arse holes because they normaly do appear in pairs,lol.

With your history you would know far more about that than anyone else here.

Most of the goverment bodies are now using FAM 30 instead of VirkonS and i`ll be doing the same once my current stock has run out.

Again you have made the same mistake, FAM30 is a livestock disinfectant (the name gives the game away) and is not approved for use by the FSA. There is a distinct difference. But you carry on using it if you feel happy eating anything coming into contact with it. As you said your not producing meat that will be eaten by a human.

It covers a much broader spectrum of disease, Fungi and general contamination better but i suppose you and Stu already know this??

I can't speak for Stu but I am familiar with FAM30 and its usage.

To be honest and quite frank then yes i`m taking the urine for some one choosing such a piece when better alternatives are readily available. But hey its your decison and some folk make some strange choices in life thats for sure,lol.
A poor choice in my opinion.
Christian it`s disinfectant and it kills bacteria so even if it was made for use in outer space it would still kill what its meant too. Joints of meat are not prepared on surfaces wiped with the stuff by me but carcass transport and tools are and thats what its use was manufactured for.
I suppose your familier with this product just like the wipes..

today I have had this post reported to me, meaning that the person concerned does not think that some of the posts on this thread are relevant to knives. I had not previously followed this thread but today I was obliged to and I have to agree. There quite often is a lot of lighthearted banter on the threads and that is all to the good, it promotes a sense of comradeship because after all if you cannot rip the urine out of your mates, who can you, and I am as guilty as the next. However there are times when it strays over the line and this is one of them, so now it stops.

I don't care who started it, and I do not want to see any attempts at clearing your own name or placing the blame on anybody else posted on here. Bear in mind that running this web site is not our wage paying employment, we do it because we like stalking and we like being able to give stalkers, new and established the chance to share their knowledge etc. So I can do without wasting my time playing referee, please behave as responsible grown ups and don't get the ref involved.

Malcolm has asked you nicely and now I am being blunt about it, stop it, remember that as referees we do have red cards.
