New to deer stalking

Lots of people stalk Muntjac with .308 & 6.5 Creedmoor, it’s all about bullet placement. I generally stick to my .308 when out stalking as it allows me to shoot whichever species I come across, and what’s obviously in season.
Ultimately if you go out stalking with a .223, you’re limiting yourself to only Muntjac & CWD. Your 6.5 Creedmoor or .308 will be your best bet when out stalking.

Don't take a ropey shot.

New lads that I've mentored sometimes think getting the deer on the ground is the be all and end all. Its not, if there is the smallest bit of doubt on safety or legality or whatever reason, don't pull the trigger.

There will always be another deer.
