Predictions on when ALL restriction are lifted

And slowly the penny drops:-

Professors Carl Heneghan and Tom Jefferson, academics at the Oxford University Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine, said that "the evidence informing policy in this outbreak is poor quality".
They wrote in the Daily Telegraph on Monday that evidence shows the risk of catching COVID-19 is higher in healthcare settings than in the community and higher indoors than outdoors but cannot say if "there is any measured distance that reduces your risk".

Might it be that government policy has been based around scaremongering, worst case scenarios & conjecture rather than on any sound scientifically tested evidence?

Right on Tim. Now lets this apply to other areas of scientific endeavour such as "CLIMATE CHANGE, GLOBAL WARMING, GLOBAL COOLING, ANTHROPOLGICAL CLIMATE CHANGE, EXTINCTION ETC. ETC."

Yes all based on wild arse guesses that are out be several orders of magnitude touted as the scientific consensus of 97% of scientists twaddle.

They'll NEVER lift all the restrictions.
Too handy for controlling the population, they'll relax most of them but keep the legislation handy " just in case".

Having been due to go to Namibia hunting for 3 weeks back in March I am still hanging on to some hope that we may still get out there before the end of the year, however that’s hope over expectation!!!

2 november this year
The day before my flight to south africa!!!:)
Good luck with that Granysmith, who are you flying with, I have posponed tickets still with SAA who look to now be getting bailed out by their government, I am slightly nervous as to the new company honouring outstanding tickets

Hi, I have flown with Virgin twice with firearms they took my 300wm and ammo that was in 2019 from Heathrow to Johannesburg then on to Port Elizabeth

Yep happy to carry all firearms!
:)
Hi Grannysmith, I meant to add having flown twice with Virgin to SA they were very good with the firearms bit, relatively simple form to fill in on the day then they hand you over to border force for the usual checks, i also contacted them two weeks before the flight To inform them I was bringing a firearm and ammo, however when you get to check in they will have no knowledge of it as per most of the airlines. When you arrive back if it’s Heathrow your rifle will get delivered to the Virgin desk/office in arrivals you have to confirm it’s yours then they go with you to Customs next to the nothing to declare door. Have a good trip

Thanks tazz thats a help!
I have been going now for 27 years but allways klm or saa and been happy with all but i think virgin perhaps gothe extra mi!e!
I have a share in a ranch in the li pop district and guide three trips a year for hunts and photo safaris to the kruger park of 6 shooters a time and sometimes their families, so have given all airlines a lot of business and never had a discount or upgrade from any of them! :-)

I have the advantage that my partner has spent her whole career in the airline business and going with certain airlines fro lesser countries increases your risks exponentially. I am sure the pilots exam process in Pakistan is the best that money can buy and they won’t be alone in that

I really hope I'm right and you are wrong, the two previous nasty corona viruses SARS and MERS aren't around now 🤞
These viruses also killed their host a lot quicker than Covid-19 so the spread was reduced. People weren't walking around for 14 days whilst infectious and having no symptoms. A virus that kills its host before having the chance to spread to a new host will always die out in the our controlled world or remain only in tiny outbursts.

As the originator of this thread back when we knew even less about CV19 than we do now I asked for predictions on when all the restrictions would be lifted. Being an optimism by nature I went with 7th Sept 2020, this was also wishful thinking as I wanted to go to South Africa at the end of September. Wrong on both fronts, some who predicted later in the year or 2021 are still in with a chance of being right, clearly optimism gets you nowhere with CV19
