Pulsar c50

I was out with mine last night , and been totally honest I found it superb,
I didn’t bother with the ir it came with , I went straight for the dark engine and after a 2 shot zero , I had a play . In day light it’s really good and I found the picture better than the part 008 , FOV better , a crisp sharp image , and able to see hairs at 500 yards ,
now turn to dust mode and it’s a different level , I don’t know how but it turns the picture back to day light and is really really good
after dark and in black / white , with the dark engine on top the sight picture is in my eyes is about as good as it gets , crisp clear and again a picture perfect for me anyway , am I glad I invested yes , will I be selling the pard 008lrf yes , I’m even considering Selling the thermion xq50 , hear Is last night’s efforts one took at 170 yards second 195 View attachment 237174
Totally agree. Had mine a few days and have tried it at most times of the day and night and it's superb. I was really happy with my pard 008 but this is in a different league. Most of the photos/videos don't do it justice.

Take a look at N8 Vision page on Facebook Lee Poland makes them.
Smaller, lighter and less powerful than the bigger double lens jobbies but more than enough punch for the 008.

That looks better than my Wraith 4k max can do with a Sirius torch. Have you got the C50 mounted with the same eye relief as a conventional 'scop, or sat further back?

385 Yds🤔 more like 185.

Lol, if I never move again that trough is 385yds from the gateway I was standing in, unless of course Google Earth and the LRF in my Pulsar thermal are both broken at the same time!
I have absolutely no need to exaggerate or lie about any of the footage I’ve posted on this thread, normally I wouldn’t even bother posting on a thread like this because I’m happy with my kit but as I’ve maintained there’s no footage out there yet from any Digital Pulsar NV that makes me want to even consider it, yet we are told it’s the best.
if you’re ever my way look me up and I’d be glad to show you;)

Well my C50 will be here soon and for what I want to use it for (foxes and rabbits at no more than 100m with a .22wmr) it looks as though it’ll be perfect for the job. I’ll be totally honest I never shoot any further than that in the dark as most of my foxes are shot on the urban fringe where even with a moddy the suburbanites get nervous. I’ve seen and heard many a ricochet from the midnight cowboys to give me insomnia for a week and just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not there. As the old saying goes ‘If it hits a gable end no one will know …. but if it goes through a window the whole world will know !’ Give it some thought folks …..

Good choice 👍

Hi @Long drag, your comment came just as I was going out for a few hours on the rabbits last night, so didn’t really get chance to engage with you properly.
There’s a lot of people that are quite happy to pass off the Pard 008 as junk on the back of a few broken mounts or the need to shim etc, or indeed purely on the fact they originate from China.
What they don’t realize is they do the job very well, the raw performance is one of the best digital images out there, maybe the whole package is not as polished as something like the C50 but part of that is just sales spiel as now the emphasis is on how well made the Pulsar is. My 008’s spend their life out in the field, all types of vermin control, in the rain, frost, mud, chucked on the quad bezzing around fields looking for quarry, the build quality is certainly there!
There’s always spurious claims of distances on the internet, I’ve raised an eyebrow many times myself at some of the distances quoted.
While I was out I tried to grab some footage with verified distances for your benefit or anyone else that doubts the 008’s ability with a cheap added laser.
In the footage below the footpath post is a point of reference to the distance of the house, can be seen through the thermal and the 008, apologies for the ad-hock thermal footage, just my mobile stuffed in the eyepiece.
Like I say, I have nothing to gain by exaggerating or lying, makes no difference to me who buys what, I’ve just had my ears pricked as this new kid on the block is touted as the best yet, but for double the price of the kit I’m using now I’m looking for footage to back that up.

I have had my C50 for a fortnight now and rate it very highly with the right IR , I have the Pulsar IR too but felt it’s not as good as it could be .
but as I said with the right IR these are magic .
I have the Solaris SRX and the Dark engine ID

i personally think the Solaris SRX has the edge on long distances
but the Dark engine ID has a nice flat well illuminated image at 150-200m mark
and no dark spot in the middle when the beam is at its widest which can be an area where a lot of IR lasers fail .

So why do they bother fitting a ir , when you have to fit a after market one to get it to work properly . Baffles me that’s for sure

You don’t have to fit one , pulsar are just giving you the option.
for some people depending on there shooting circumstances/ needs may only require the standard IR .
other people may need higher performance and there have the option to not pay extra for something they will not need .
its a bit like saying why aren’t all cars 500hp .

I had a sightline N470 that had a fixed IR and it was quite poor , but it became a pain because it was fixed and made things awkward for aftermarket options

there are Two options with the C50 and Two prices .
