SACS what do they actually do ?

Excellent idea - count me in.
In fact the organisations do sort-of meet at all sorts of levels, but for some reason I never get invited to the private parties - can't imagine why :stir:

Howa i am not interested in what the split is regards shot guns air rifles etcmay i add that i did not care how the split fell when i was with BASC or BDS. You asked me a question and i answered as clear as i could. Your other points are off topic and seperate and could be took to PM or a meet if you are really interested. With regards taking coin or making money. Your well off no money was made from the urban deer guide infact it cost money. BASC were not interested in the user guide and that is there choice.
I do believe that SACS is now a major player in scotland and is still growing. It seems to meet the needs of the deerstalkers up here and long may it continue.

Hi Iain - I think it's an excellent idea for SACS to be involved with FACE - I'll look at that.
After all, we might be a separate country shortly!

And growing in England, if a client doesn't have insurance i give a quick phone call to SACS and its sorted, i have introduced quite a few new members like that, and for the first 12 months they get a reduced rate.
Cheers

I assume its the cheap insurance that is most important to you then. If as Ian says the insurance is approximately £2 or £3 pounds worth of membership it might be worth enquiring to see if we could get that element sorted elsewhere without the membership cost.

If insurance only costs £2 to £3 then some organisations are seriously taking the p1ss out of their members

Agreed. That is just the SACS one though. I think it would be a mistake to assume that all insurance policies are the same because they most certainly are not.

If you read the caravan insurance thread we are all finding it all hard to get them insured when left in a wood rang Basc and they covered it no extra cost saved me a fortune and I get to keep the caravan on my lease

Nobody will insure a caravan left in a wood for 3rd party damage land agents are now asking for this Basc did it f o c with membership so my Basc membership is now cheap

Dear All,
I don’t think any of the organisations are taking the Mick out of their members on membership cost, for sure the insurance cost is only one fraction of he total cost of the membership package the rest goes on running the association as has been said.

Instance may keeps he shooter safe in the event they have an accident for example but the organisations do more than that, they do their best to keep shooting safe.

Maybe this warrents a new thred?

David

An old thread but it does seem Ian had very valid reasons to worry about the underhand doings within the LAG.Well spotted fella.
