Sako A7 - Bolt Shroud

Afternoon gents,

Looking to pick some brains. I have a Sako A7 which I love. The only thing I am not a big fan of is the plastic bolt shroud, it looks cheap. I noticed another A7 had a metal bolt shroud on it. I believe this was off of a Sako 85. Am I correct in this assumption and if so is it easy to change it over. Anyone know where I could get one from?

I used to have a A7 with a stainless Sako 85 shroud. I ordered the shroud from brownells, it was on backorder and took about 6 months to arrive. I think there are some aftermarket ones out there now too. I took the Sako 85 shroud off my dad's rifle to prove the concept before I ordered the part. Fitting is easy enough but there is a tool to assist removal - I didn't use anything though.

I bought mine off eBay for £35. They are made from aluminium and are available in black or silver. Just type in Sako a7 and they’ll come up.
