Scot Independence poll - would you leave?

If you reside in Scotland, and Independence prevailed, would you leave to England/Elsewhere?

If e then re-joined the EU, then Scotland would be better than south of the 'border
Re-join?
That's one of the key things I don't understand about the Independence Ideology of the SNP.

Now, Scotland is one of 3 in Great Britain.

If an independent Scotland re-joined the EU it would be one of 27.

That just doesn't sound like "Independence" to me.

The 2nd is the border. Anyone following the debate about N Island will understand that the EU will mandate a hard border between Scotland (once in the EU) and England.
For NS to say " she doesn't think that there is a need for a hard border is disingenuous at best.

It seams to me, that she has an obsession with claiming a place in history, at the expense of common sense. I hope the good people of Scotland see through her.

Would you leave Scotland?

My good lady, and generations of her parents are from The Borders.
However, we live in Cheshire.
Given her long history and our desire to participate in Scotland we started a small business in The Borders in 2010.

The 1st Referendum made us nervous and we stopped further investment.

This ongoing noise from the SNP is far more troubling and we are now taking steps to relocate that business to England.

She's right in that there would be absolutely no need for a hard border between Scotland and England. But there's no need for one in Ireland either. Yet it is the EU that would put one there. It would do the same between England and Scotland as well.

Thing is once Scotland does become independent, the SNP dissolves as it is purely formed to attain independence.
So it then becomes on the other parties to step up to the mark and make a better country.
Who knows which party the SNP voters would join?
I think it would probably be a hung Parliament - Labour/Lib Dems/Greens as the Tories have very little standing.

I find the concept of independence ruled by Europe a farce. Being English I think we should give Sturgeon her way. Would save buckets of money, cant see it been the eutopia shes selling once they can the oil to keep the anti nuc and greenies happy!

Im only miles from the border so the smuggling opportunities would increase!

Maybe the electorate should take a look at what happened in the otherwise reasonably amicable separation between Czech and Slovakia: the poorer though prouder Slovaks were led up the garden path by their politicos, and got their ‘drrreeam of independence’; next day the whole edifice began to crumble, the politicians involved soon scattered to the winds, and Slovakia plc plunged in all-too predictable fashion and spent the next decade trying to get back to the position they were in before the parting of the ways.

Anyone wanting to instantly sacrifice their assets, pension and standard of living by a further 25-30% with ZERO possibility of thereafter joining the EU (- a kind of in-dependency) within the ensuing decade whilst enduring the mother of all austerity drives in the meantime might as well don a turkey costume and vote for traditional Christmas dinner, trimmings and all. One can only surmise that the Natsi support base either cannot work a calculator or have little by way of a pot to pi55 in, yet somehow still fully expect the annual settlement from Westminster to continue to arrive at Follyrood for their pleasure.

Lets keep it simple

IF IT WERE A RACEHORSE WITH FORM LIKE THIS 000000000000000 (that's one duck egg for every year of SNP failure) would you back it?

NO WAY, and I'm a PROUD SCOT!
The tories haven't won in Scotland since 1955, you don't know your duck eggs from hens eggs. More like 'Proud tory' constantly backing the losing horse :p

"might as well don a turkey costume and vote for traditional Christmas dinner" - you mean like people voting for Brexit and voting tory at an election. People have been lied to constantly by the tories for over a decade, not my opinion, look at the facts. Turkeys voting Xmas indeed.

There is a large Scottish expat community out here that started after the independence referendum , it's still growing . Great for us , they're hard working , intelligent people who add to the community . Bad news for Scotland though , they're losing a lot of very capable people . I'm going Moose hunting with one this weekend . All in all , I find it quite sad .

Your country is populated by people who quit their original country for a 'better' life. Nothing new. Did Frsnce go downhill due to the numbers leaving the country for Canada? What you see is the entire reason your country exists.

That is not what I mean, I mean that anyone unable to realise what the cost to my country would be by letting the Natsis have their way and then having to run a budget in their newly won circumstances whilst trying to make a better job of it than their completely abysmal track record thus far has all too little grasp of what they would in fact stand to lose, and not even the good sense to look into the matter in detail.

Time was, when teacher asked pupils to ‘show their workings’ as to how they arrived at the solutions to various arithmetic questions - that seems to have gone by the wayside in both educational and political terms these days, and it’s sure fact that the devil is in the detail. We’re fifteen years further back than we have ever been, with a clearly accounted notional deficit to gdp ratio that would give the poor Greeks and Afghani’s cause to blush, and we have not seen nor heard a whisker as to how they intend to improve their dismal record nor bring the country into a condition where the EU application could even begin to be made, though it should be borne in mind too that more Scots voted in favour of Brexit than have ever put the Natsis in their position of ‘service’.

'dismal' compared to what? The fact you refer to SNP and their voters as Natsis is embarrassing. Grow up man.

Not at all. I just look at the mess the tories have made of everything since they came to power and it's clear the SNP are not that bad :)
Apart from
Drug death's
GP shortages
NHS waiting lists
Police recruitment
Teacher's strikes
Renewable target's
Attainment Gap
The Ferry Fiasco
And of course...
Hating anything to do with Country Sports
That's just off the top of my head.

I could write 100x that list detailing the crap the tories have inflicted on us English. ALL of that list also applies to the tories in England, except the ferry fiasco, which the tories more than made up for with their procurement of ferries that didn't exist, PPE supplies and a lot more besides. Don't be so blinkered.
