Ask twenty reloaders a question and you will get twenty different answers. I nowadays only anneal if I start to get splits in the case neck or if I start getting sooty cases in previously ok reloads.
I used to stand my cases in a tray containing half an inch of water, play a blow torch over the necks and as soon as they go cherry red, tip them over.
Very important not to anneal or soften the head of the case.
What I should have said is once one case in a batch cracks I used to anneal the rest. I should have said dull red. I stopped annealing because I didn't need to!
Nowadays I prefer to spend my time shooting!
