Sierra Pro Hunter vs Gamekings

The boattail bullets of any brand are not going to give you enough BC advantage to notice a difference inside 200 meters with most hunting rounds, and the difference at 300 yards is only a couple of inches, but some more retained velocity and energy.

So go with the bullets which give you the tightest groups, as that is more important.

I use 120gr Pro Hunter’s in my 6.5x55 a cracking bullet in my opinion. They just do the job and they do it very well. I use em on Red, Roe & Sika.

Thanks gents, definite bias towards the prohunters. I think I’ll stick with the classic 130grain .270 and if they don’t work I’ll reorder some 110’s. Many thanks for all the info

OK so I got bored tonight, dug out my Stoney Point (Hornady these days) bullet comparator & checked out 5 each of the Pro Hunter & Gameking, both .243 & 100gr.
With the GK, I had a spread of 0.003" & with the PH all measured identical to the rest. Decided to check some more & yep, the GK's had a spread of 0.003" across the 20 or so I checked 20 of the PH too & had a couple that came in at 0.0005" under, with the rest identical.
Checked some Hornady interlocks & they too have a spread of around 0.003", as did some 90gr Lapua Scenars & 90gr FMJ GK's.

I think I'll go hang my anorak back in the hall now...
