Trigger

Nothing worse than using rifles with huge trigger weights, ive needed to check safety on a few occasions, or even check that the bolts cocked.

I like my triggers to be light and clean enough to shoot off hand with. Not all rifles are the same. My AR's are different from my bolt guns, and they are all different from each other in design so I often make do. I have taken a dislike to CZ's set trigger units over the last few rifles. Some were just plain defective. I have taken a "skip to the end" attitude and started ordering a new Timney with every new CZ 527. I haven't been disappointed until the one I installed on my 527 Varmint in 6.5 Grendel. No matter how I adjusted it there was a noticeable/annoying amount of creep before breaking. For a varmint shooting from a fixed position it would be fine, but for off hand shooting I found it distracting enough to order a replacement. I installed it this morning and was very pleased with the results. After adjustment, about two pounds and crisp. I can live with that. CZ has taken to sealing over the sear engagement screw. I wouldn't mind that if they didn't send it off with the screw backed out as far as possible. Out of the box and on the gun the trigger pull was like five miles of bad road. I dug the sealant out (easy) and adjusted the sear engagement before attending the other settings. If you're going to try this, it's like a 3/32" Allen wrench. ~Muir

The above should have read "Timney has taken to sealing over the sear engagement screw" ~Muir

I prefer a crisp 3lb ish weight of trigger. Allows you to squeeze rifle nice and tight as the shot breaks and control the recoil.

i have used light triggers and don’t like them.

I have to say, one of the worst triggers I’ve ever had on a rifle was my colt AR! Horrendous! But I guess not designed for super accuracy.

My Tikka LSA 55 came set at 3lbs and over the past 33 years I've learnt to live with it. When the rifle was checked as part of employment with dcs, the gunsmith was delighted it wasn't super light. Btw I only own one rifle.....

AR’s as a rule have horrible triggers until you get to the high dollar ones. Bought my first AR-15 eight years ago and was shocked at how heavy the trigger was. A 3 lb Timney fixed it.
