Does anyone know any guided hunts for 17 years olds without a FAC in the Essex / heartfordshire area if so are they cheap ish , most I find are hundreds if not thousands for pounds for guided deer hunts , I say for 17 years olds due to the borrowing law of rifles ( I’m not entirely sure) allowing a person to use a rifle without a FAC with their permission and supervision of someone with a FAC

I was about to say that JIm DGVM is an absolute gent and would be my first port of call.

You don’t say if you have any experience of shooting but that would be a first step. Maybe join a local shooting club and get some experience and meet like minded people.

I have experience shooting air rifles and I know a few people who go flat pigeon shooting and the dog hunting (no clue what the proper name is )

Have you looked at local shoots (beating) as the season is in full swing! The countryside has much more to offer once you add your face to the frame.
Deer stalking is quite high up the ladder, those skills for many of us started at the bottom rung... :tiphat:

I’m not sure what bleating is but my main goal is to experience deer stalking not as a permanent hobby or career but to have an understanding of it and to experience it , I don’t have a lot of money 😭 so I’m trying to be careful on what I choose

Beating is a way to push game (pheasant's partridges mainly) over waiting guns, Bleating has it's own meaning's

If you want some advice start at the bottom as then you will learn to listen take in then ask questions.

I started off shooting rats then rabbits then ferreting over time you learn to listen then ask questions

Ahh interesting , I believe a family friend of mine does that , thank you for your advice I appreciate it , I’ll look into it an come back with any questions if I have any
